Round 5. Snetterton.

We got to the track with a new diffuser, exhaust, new brake pads, a Joe with practically zero knowledge of the 300 layout and fairly mediocre expectations with a plan to get through the day with more experience and a working car to go home with.

Warm up. This was all about taking it easy, learn the track, bed the pads in. Which we did. But we also split a boost hose…

Attack 1. Out Joe goes, boost hose gaffer taped and clamped up. Best lap was 2.10.839. Way off .3t who had put in 2.08.673 but we expected this as it is his home circuit and the dude can peddle! We finished P2. The hose got worse….

Attack 2. unknowingly loaned us a hose - thanks buddy, I’ll return it soon 🫢 - So I sent Joe out with no leaks, we got a 2.09.648. Reeling Gary in but still off his pace with another 2.08. The R53T was getting a little warm but proving itself lap after lap so we kept pushing ending with us in P2.

Super Attack. A little adjustment on settings, tyre pressure check and off Joe goes chasing Gary down. Gary was unaware how close we were, our 2.08.188 to his 2.08.136 was shouted at him when he came in the pits so off he went and pulled a 2.07.331 out of nowhere! Joe was on pace for a 2.07 when a boost hose popped off and that ended our final with P2.

Again hats off to you Gary. You deserve it but dude, we almost had you!

As always huge thanks to everyone involved, your help and support is appreciated 🫶🏽

Now to prep for Brands…

New diffuser and exhaust now made and fitted, we are evolving the car as we use this season for testing.

Just look at it!

We are a big fan of the fluro livery at team Joe 90 Racing 🇬🇧 !

We finished in P2 in all sessions including the final - Super Attack. Can we better ourselves this season though?

Please share this page with any women you think might be interested in going on a track day, help us boost the page and get the word out!

Driven Life - women-only trackdays are organised by Suzy Wallace with the aim to help women take the first step into track days, no pressure, plenty of support, no rushing, no male ego’s.

The community these event days has built up so far is awesome - a group of petrol head women who now all love driving on track, chatting about cars and supporting each other.

If you think you want to be part of something like this or you know someone who might please send them in the direction of the Driven Life pages ☺️

Thanks everyone 👍

Mk2 Golf 1.8T

Issue it came in for - overheating due to coolant issues.

Issues found while here - large oil leak, no boost control, actuator adjusted so much it was locked so wouldn’t boost even if it was asked to! Multiple exhaust blows,

Solutions - replace failed water pump (cam belt at the same time), test and replace thermostat, re-route coolant hoses as they were wrong, clean out header tank, remove turbo to replace split oil feed line and gaskets, set actuator, swap N75 plug from the coolant sensor it was on to the N75 valve it should be on, fit correct length bolts holding the turbo to the manifold as they were so long it caused an exhaust blow, relocate oil pressure sensors.

Now can use the car he just bought and although we have a short list of ‘to do’s’ on the car it is hopefully going to be reliable from here on 🤞🏽

Successful first full round at Oulton Park coming home with a cup for P2!

Joe Bullen drove well, the car performed and pretty much everything went smoothly with only some set up adjustments done through the day while Joe got his head back in the game after the Donington wall incident.

Well done and thank you to all involved, onwards and upwards from here with more adjustments and upgrades to the car on the way…..
