This really does concern us here at TRO Trailers, so much so that we are going to share a recent service story with you hoping that nobody else gets caught out like this.

Our customer advised us on arrival that their horse trailer was serviced previously and that all new brakes were fitted - at that time an invoice in excess of £800 was issued and settled.

Roll forward a year or so and what do we find? 4 x absolutely rotten brake backing plates, 4 x failed brake cables, brake shoes that were either worn out or broken up and basically a horse trailer that was not in a condition to transport a horse, so what did our customer actually pay for??

Please note that this is not a ‘must use TRO Trailers’ kind of post but what we do hope is that you look carefully at the pictures and decide if this is acceptable to you and your precious passengers, all we do ask is that you please make sure that who ever you use ( and there are a lot of great people out there offering the same service as we do) you choose those that not only specialise in trailers but are also horse aware, they must understand just how precious your horses are and not cut any corners where maintenance is concerned.

Rant over - please choose carefully who you use for your next trailer service, it might just be the best decision you make for you and your horse.

Trailer lighting adapters, used to match the trailer lighting plug to the tow cars socket.

A great idea but in our experience, one of the most frequent causes of trailer lighting failure.

To keep your horses safe whilst being transported we recommend either carrying a new spare adapter or changing the trailer plug to match the cars socket (removing the need for one of these fault prone items).

When a valued Hampshire customer asked us to replace her HB505 panels and ramp (not something that we usually do on site) we couldn’t resist - 07.30 am Monday morning we collect the trailer and after 2 days in our workshop on the Dorset/Wiltshire border we deliver it back completed by 6pm the following day

We don’t usually fit replacement panels ‘on site’ however to reduce inconvenience to our customer, Mrs TRO and I soon had this HB506 rear ramp out and new one fitted.

Here at TRO Trailers we will not consider using anything other than genuine panels when rebuilding your trailers, horse safety is something that we feel strongly about and that means using tried and tested products.

Another 9 panels collected today from our local Ifor Williams dealer, they may not be the cheapest option but we are confident that they are the best.

Just reached 4 years and still growing - now looking after 500+ trailers. TRO Trailers - offering affordable and convenient trailer servicing and repairs across Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset and more recently Hampshire and The New Forest.

Two years ago today ‘TRO Services’ was formed and it was always our intention to make trailer servicing our primary business, one which would be both convenient and affordable to our customers. We think we have succeeded on both counts with our mobile service that not only makes life easy for you but we also charge a fair bit less than the dealerships.

Paul is passionate about trailer safety, his sole aim is to ensure that your horses get transported in trailers that are both fit for purpose and being used within the law - after all your precious ponies deserve that don’t they ?

Over the last two years we have welcomed very nearly 250 trailer customers to the business, that’s an amazing number and one that we will continue to grow on as the rebranded ‘TRO Trailers’ moves into year three.

As well as being mobile we are now offering workshop based repairs so that we can carry out some of those bigger jobs, we are conveniently located near Shaftesbury and we in some situations may offer collection and delivery - it couldn’t be any easier to have your trailer serviced or repaired could it ?
