8V Audi S3s don't make for a very impressive power graph on the fuel we have here in Shetland, but this definitely doesn't directly translate to how they feel on the road. The gains feel far more impressive than the numbers would suggest. Well worth getting tuned if you feel a bit of the new car spark has worn off of your EA888 equipped VAG vehicle.

20VT Cupra R in for some further tuning to suit the aftermarket parts fitted. Strong figures from this one and personally one of the quickest feeling 1.8T VAG cars I have driven in a while in this state of tune.

Always a bit of a quest getting the old 1.8T to produce power in the way you want it to, but we got there in the end!

We said we might get the camera out every now and again..

And when would be a better photo occasion than to have Matt Kirby's lovely Elan on the rollers for a quick bit of testing to aid in his sorting out of some fuelling gremlins he was experiencing whilst up for the classic motor show.

A beautifully restored example overall with a fresh engine rebuilt just awaiting final tuning once the engine was run in. However, to run the engine in it has to run. Hooked up to our exhaust sniffer we could hold the car at various load points throughout the rev range and show Matt where the car was rich and lean to give him an idea of what to tweak to make the running in process a little more pleasurable.

Happy New Year to all our customers, clients and followers from 2023. We hope 2024 is as prosperous for you all.

We've been a little quiet on social media this year due to some personal commitments sapping up social media time, but we're still operating as normal on the rolling road. We've tuned plenty of exciting vehicles in 2023, including the usual range of Amaroks and other VAG diesels, plus the odd 2.4 Toyota Hilux (much improved if you fancy the 2.8 but don't want to buy a new pickup!)

We'll maybe get the camera out more often in 2024!

A follow up to the video we posted of this RS3 on the dyno before Christmas. Producing just over 450hp at the crank its even more blistering than it was in standard trim. Fitted with a Forge intake pipe just to help the turbocharger breathe slightly better, which always helps when tuning on our absolutely awful RON rating fuel.

These engines are capable of a few more horses with high quality fuel which is a luxury that escapes us here in Shetland. As always though, all petrol cars dyno tested with us here are running the same fuel and so have the same fuel limitations. Comparably they're all on a level playing field. Worth paying attention to your torque gains though, as these are often comparable with better quality fuels due to engines not being so knock limited in the lower rev range when the turbo comes on song and torque is what you feel on a daily basis when you're not exploring the upper reaches of the redline.

This Mk7.5 GTI Performance was in for tuning before Christmas.

Again highlighting the importance of tuning accordingly for aftermarket components. The aftermarket exhaust was causing all kinds of engine management issues. Tuned now with the correct software for our 93RON fuel, its producing respectable figures.

These arguably more exciting than the Golf R due to their decreased weight being 2wd. With the Performance Pack Differential they don't even sacrifice too much cornering ability over the R too. The sensible, cost efficient and fuel efficient fast VW just now? Very possibly..

A nice Skoda Superb in for an alignment. Despite its low mileage being only a couple of years old, the usual wear and long term movement on bushings and components was reducing the life of it's tyres. Light adjustment throughout the life of a vehicle will help keep the tyre wear even and get you those few extra thousand miles from a set, especially important with expensive winter tyres like the ones fitted here.
