A spraybooth service involves far more than most people realise! 🛠️

Our spraybooth servicing is a detailed process that covers everything from airflow and extraction performance to booth pressurisation, heating systems and compliance testing.

Every component needs to be checked to ensure the booth is performing as it should to ensure a high-quality finish. ✨

Small issues that go unnoticed can quickly impact efficiency, paint quality and even lead to unexpected downtime!

That’s why regular servicing is so important, not just for compliance, but for keeping your operations running smoothly.

💫 Keep Your Filters Performing Their Best 💫

We’re committed to helping customers get the most from their spraybooths through proper maintenance and best industry advice… and filter care is a key part of that process 🧼

Regular filter replacements play a crucial role in maintaining booth efficiency, safety, and performance.

Every booth is different in terms of changing filters, depending on workload and hours run. However, neglecting your filters can result in:

Lower Finish Quality: Increased potential for dust, debris, and overspray contamination.
Compliance & Safety Concerns: Reduced air quality and potential impacts on workplace safety standards.
Increased Equipment Wear: Added strain on booth components, potentially shortening their lifespan (often leading to breakdowns).

Keep your booth running efficiently by contacting the team today on 01889 343115 or [email protected] for replacement filters, maintenance support, and advice you can rely on 📞

Keeping your spraybooth running efficiently isn’t just about performance, it’s about quality and safety too.

🔧 When should you change your filters?

Input Filters:
• Increased dust or debris in the booth
• Manufacturer-recommended pressure drop reached
• After 1000 hours of use or annually

Extract Filters:
• Overspray lingering longer than usual
• Fan running at full capacity
• Pressure drop exceeds recommended levels
• After 50 hours or 1 month of use

⚠️ Why it matters:

Neglecting filter maintenance can lead to poor airflow, coating defects, and increased health & safety risks. A well-maintained spray booth ensures cleaner finishes, safer working conditions, and optimal performance.

🤩 Squeaky Clean Booths 🤩

You probably know that here at SSM, we’re the servicing and aftercare side of Todd Engineering Ltd. That means we usually don’t see our spraybooths until around 12 months after installation… and trust us, even brand-new booths can sometimes end up looking years old in just a few weeks…

So when our engineers send back photos like these from site visits and servicing, it genuinely makes our day 😊

We know keeping your booth spotless isn’t easy, especially with a busy workload… but every now and then, we come across some real hidden gems 👀

How satisfying are these?! 😍

🩵🤍 Blue or White? 🩵🤍

One question we get a lot is what’s the difference between the white and the blue pre-filter? 🤔

Well, theoretically they do the same job! They are both pre-extract filters and sit in your booth behind the green extract, however there are a few differences between the two! 👀

👍Thickness – Our blue pre-filter comes in at around 20mm, whilst the white sits at 10mm.
👍Dust Holding Capacity – The blue pre-filter has a DHC of 1000 grams, however the white can hold up to 800 grams.
👍ISO Course – Our blue-pre filter has an ISO Course of 60%, the white is 55%.
👍Needling – Our blue pre-filter is not needled, whereas the white is.

Overall, it is completely down to customer preference which you go for. We do find that the blue can last longer due to the thickness and DHC – however white is more popular as industry standard.

If you’re unsure about which may be best for you, drop us a message and we’ll be more than happy to advise 🤩

💚 Green Fibreglass Extract Filter 💚

Did you know your spraybooth’s extract filters could be hiding in a few different places? 👀 Depending on the make and model of your booth, you might find them at the rear, along the side walls, or even under the gridded floor.

And they play a vital role in keeping your booth healthy too! Extract filters capture overspray and paint particles, helping stop harmful fumes from entering the atmosphere. To keep your booth running smoothly, they should be changed regularly (especially if you’ve had a lot of work going through the booth).

When filters become clogged with overspray, airflow can be restricted, which may lead to performance issues or even a booth breakdown ⚠️

You should also have a pre-extract filter (usually white or blue) sitting just behind the green fibreglass to catch the finer particles.

While 1m is the standard width for most extract filters, some booths require different sizes. The good news? Thanks to our strong network, we can source a wide range of specialist filter types and sizes to make sure you get exactly what you need… which is what we have done for one of our customers who actually required a 1.5m roll instead! 👏

Do you have a question regarding your extract filters? Are you running low on stock? Get in touch with our sales team today! 📞
