Clear coat looked perfect out of the booth… then lost its gloss a few hours or days later?

In many cases, the cause comes back to the same problem: water or solvent is still trying to escape after the coating has already started to set.

In this carousel, we cover the practical steps that help prevent gloss drop:

✅ Dry the basecoat thoroughly
✅ Use airflow correctly
✅ Understand the effect of humidity
✅ Avoid heavy coats
✅ Respect flash-off times
✅ Select the correct hardener and thinner speed
✅ Don’t bake too soon
✅ Keep freshly painted panels out of direct sun

The goal is simple: make sure water and solvents have evaporated before the clearcoat begins to cure.

Always follow the product TDS and adjust your process for the actual panel temperature and workshop conditions.
