With regret BR JOHNSON & Co LTD will be closing its doors at the end of this year ❌

After a planned move to a bigger premises the decision has been made to close the business due to to unforeseen circumstances.

We will be able to take on Servicing, MOT’s and minor repairs until the end of the year but nothing bigger than this.

Thanks for your understanding at this difficult time for all our members of staff.

🚗🔧 Why Regular Servicing Matters 🔧🚗

We recently had a Vauxhall Astra booked in for a full service after the customer reported a low oil pressure warning. Upon removing the oil filter, we discovered that the filter had started to collapse internally and was packed with metal filings from within the engine.

This is a perfect example of why regular maintenance is so important. Catching problems early can help prevent further engine damage, reduce repair costs, and potentially save your vehicle from a complete engine failure.

A few progress pictures of our new unit @ Formal Business Park coming along nicely….. just waiting for the floors to be painted and awaiting our new Class 4, 5 & 7 MOT bay, which will be 6.5 metres long! 😳

Today’s mystery ❓

Something we’ve never seen before…. This vehicle was recovered into us with a suspected wet belt failure (see our previous post as to why regular maintenance is a good idea 😉). However on further inspection Wayne found the wet belt to be intact but the engine was seized solid, what happened next was something we had never seen before…….. 25 litres of water was drained from the engine on this vehicle with nobody having a clue as to how it got there. The customer had even made it as far as Exeter before it finally gave up 🤔

Anyone interested in some limited edition, bottled at source B.R Johnson Sump water? 💦

Yesterday was Wet Belt Wednesday! 💧🔧

Pictured you can see our resident Wet Belt Master Wayne grinning from ear to ear 😆

Here at B.R Johnson we are able to carry out a variety of wet belt replacements on any of the Ford EcoBoost or EcoBlue engines, as well as the Peugeot/Citroen group vehicles with our Ex Peugeot Main Dealer technician Thomas bringing a wealth of knowledge on these engines to our team. 👨🏼‍🔧

It is a common misconception that a Wet Belt is something to fear and is a flawed design, this couldn’t be further from the truth and whilst like every vehicle you do get the odd anomaly, with a strict service regime and using the correct grade of oil we rarely see any issues. 😎

When carrying out a Wet Belt replacement we use GENUINE parts as well as replacing the water pump which isn’t something other repairers always include in their quote, however we believe whilst there is access to the pump it is worth replacing. 🛠️
