Just back from our workshop following major fettling is our 1968 Lotus Cortina Mark II
This wonderful example has covered under 13000 miles from new, and had just one owner from 1978 until it came to us a couple of months ago.
Fitted with an uprated Lotus 1583cc twin cam engine with Burton Power internals, Kent cams, big valve head and reputedly good for 150bhp, which considering it weighs about the same as a big bag of spuds, means it’s pretty lively, and sounds great too.
We do have the original 1558cc engine if matching numbers etc are your thing.
Suffice to say I don’t think you’ll find a better one.

Recently arrived back with us after over 3 years with the last owner, to whom we supplied it to.
An ultra-rare classic Mini, and probably the ultimate factory car..
This is a 1999 Rover Mini Cooper 1.3 MPi Cooper S touring sportspack.
John Cooper Garages Build number 99-S-162
Somehow, John Cooper Garages managed to extract a reliable 90bhp from the A-series engine for these rare beasts. May not sound much by modern standards, but that sort of power and the appropriate torque increase make a classic mini really fly.
the ‘touring’ designation means that, whilst it’s still fitted with the 4-speed gearbox, the 4th gear ratio has been lengthened to make it a bit less frenetic at speed.
It’s still in brilliant condition - last owner has done no more than 500 miles in it, and the odometer reads 75000m with supporting history.
And yes, the fancy twin exhaust was a John Cooper Garages option, not an aftermarket go faster one.

Here’s our beautiful 1959 Alvis TD21 DHC - the epitome of late 1950’s / early 1960’s British style, and one of the few true 4 seater convertibles from the period that you can buy without spending north of 75k on.
This one has had just one owner since the 1970’s, who’s now had to give up driving.
Showing 59000 miles, which, given its provenance and history, is likely correct.
Fitted with modern electric power steering, and 5-speed gearbox, which make it much more enjoyable and easy to drive than it would have been 60-plus years ago.
And with its wire wheels and gorgeous red leather interior, it exudes a certain raffishness too.
My elder daughter has her eye on it for her wedding in November, and, if it’s not found a new home by then, it’ll acquit itself with aplomb…

Just arrived-the most fantastic Jensen Interceptor I’ve ever seen…
This one was bought by the last owner in 2020 with a view to turning it into the best Interceptor he could. 6 years and over £60000 (excluding the original purchase price) have been lavished on this, and a lucky new owner will get a fabulous car.
It’s a 1973 Interceptor III J series, with 59000 miles and massive service history back to day 1 factory build records.
Not cheap at £49995 but if you want one of the best…

ook the 1948 Chevy for a blast down to for their monthly cars and coffee meet - I’d forgotten what a blast it is to drive. Usual friendly welcome from the crew, great coffee (no bacon roll for me due to doctors orders, but they are great) and some great, and/or rare cars including a magnificent 911 in dark green, and a flat front Saab 900 Turbo. And everyone loved the Chevy, natch..
