Behind the scenes with Buster @ Buster’s Mobile Garage.

We’ve got this Range Rover Evoque in for a timing chain replacement on its Ingenium engine. Getting to this stage is a time-consuming job — subframe out, gearbox out, and the entire top and side of the engine stripped down!

A slack timing chain starts with a subtle rattle, but if left unchecked, it causes correlation fault codes and can lead to major engine failure if the chain snaps. This job threw in an extra challenge with seized bottom ball joints, taking 3 hours of heat and patience just to drop the subframe.

Now it’s time to remove the old chains, clean everything up, fit the new genuine timing kit, and reassemble.

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Vehicle Technician to join our busy and growing team at our Creekmoor workshop.

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing local business, working as part of a friendly team of four.

The Role:

We’re looking for someone who is confident and competent in all aspects of light vehicle servicing, repairs and maintenance.

The ideal candidate must be able to carry out:

* General servicing, repairs and maintenance
* Timing belt replacements
* Timing chain replacements
* Brakes, suspension and clutch work
* Fault finding and diagnostics
* General mechanical repairs across a wide range of makes and models

A good level of diagnostic ability is essential, along with the confidence to work independently and as part of a team.

🌡️ Air conditioning not blowing cold?

However, not blowing cold doesn't always mean your vehicle simply needs a regas. A faulty compressor, pressure sensor, refrigerant leak or electrical fault could all be the cause.

Brake day in the workshop last Friday!

We had a Mercedes C-Class in for replacement Brembo discs and pads, alongside a beautiful Porsche 911 that came in for a Wilwood rear brake upgrade.

The Porsche upgrade included:

* New Wilwood callipers
* Adaptor brackets
* Braided brake lines
* New handbrake shoes
* New discs and pads

We also fabricated new metal brake lines to make sure everything was finished to the highest standard and working exactly as it should. The car will also be returning to us in the future to have the front brakes upgraded too.

A big thank you to our customer for trusting us with his pride and joy.

We always aim to keep our prices as fair as possible but due to rising wholesale oil costs, we’ll be increasing our oil prices slightly from today onwards.

We know nobody likes price increases (us included), so we’ve held off for as long as we could.

If wholesale prices reduce again in the future, we’ll review our pricing accordingly.
