Cheval Owners 📣

Had a callout to a customer of mine saying their wheel was rubbing the side of the trailer when turning and the wheel looked loose which they confirmed lifting the trailer and rocking the wheel. I found that two of the suspension arms had cracked on the welds 😱 fourtunatley they were very quick to catch this as it could have resulted in a very serious accident.

Considering this trailer is two years old and typically just out of its warranty, its definaltey something that needs to be checked regularly on these trailers. Wheels need to be removed the check all the welds properly and regular servicing will help identify problems early on.

510 in for a panel replacement⚒️

N/S panel swap replacement on this 510 and it couldnt have waited much longer 😱 took the last retaining bolt out and the panel folded under its own weight, absolutely no structrual integrity at all, you can see with the panel removed how little structure there is without it so its so important that the panels are in good shape💪

Not often do customers ask me to replace parts that are perfectly fine 🤣..

But this customers situation was a little different to the norm, his towing vehicle could only tow 350kg on an unbraked trailer and he estimated closer to 500kg fully loaded so we came up with a plan to convert his unbraked trailer to a braked one💪

Modified the draw bar to accept the new Alko pole coupling and added a new alloy axle🥽⚒️

Even though the trailer is never going to carry anymore than 500kg his tow vehicle is now rated to tow 1300kg as its now a braked trailer 👏

The rebuild has finally began...

Every panel had extensive water damage on this box.

Its a massive job to sort panels on these as each panel is interlocked into another by the corner caps so to remove even one panel chances are youd have to remove everyother panel and because from factory they are split half way up (design flaw in my opinion) they all let water in and rot.

Ive used a single full size panel for the side and rear reducing the chance of water damaging it in future.

Summer ready ☀️☀️

This customer wanted to get their trailer ready for the summer ahead after it had been sat unused for a couple of years.

Needed a new floor as the old one had rotted away around the outside and a new strut for the top as the original one had failed meaning it wasnt giving any assitance to opening the lid. Also needed new tyres and the lights sorting🚥

All new parts supplied and fitted its now ready to load up and go 🏕

Bike trailer modification🏍🥽💥

Had this little bike trailer back in last week, the customer had recently changed bikes and wasnt happy how the new one was secured to the trailer and wanted some additional tie down points for the handlebars.

After getting some measurments from him to make sure what he wanted was going to work i added these outriggers and hooks to the existing frame so he can now get his straps on the handlebars to pull the front down and forward to keep it secure 💪

After regreasing the bearings and checking the rest of the trailer over for him its ready for the next adventure 👍🏍

Another Ifor Williams in for panel replacements✅️⚒️

Busy over the last couple of weeks with panels, had this Ifor Williams 510 in for side panels replacements which, like many Ifors this age had gone soft.

Most people dont know where or how to check the panels and the way to do this is push the panels mainly in the corners to check for movement, any movement normally means the panel has gone soft and will require replacing.

Its really important to check your panels regularly as the structrual integrity of the trailer is in the panels and if they're rotten the trailer isnt safe. The only way to sort this is replace the panel(s).

The amount of bodge jobs out there to try and strengthen rotten panels is shocking and putting horses in those trailers on the road is dangerous to say the least🚨
