5 things to consider on your TEST DAY 🚗📝
1. Don’t aim to drive perfectly aim to drive safely.
Mistakes can happen, and one small mistake doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve failed. Focus on making safe, controlled decisions and showing the examiner that you can drive independently.
2. Be consistent with your observations don’t rush!
Check your mirrors regularly and make sure your observations are clear and purposeful, especially before changing speed, direction or position. Take your time and don’t let the pressure of the test affect your routine.
3. If you’re unsure whether it’s safe, WAIT.
There’s nothing wrong with waiting for a safer opportunity. Whether you’re emerging at a junction, changing lanes or dealing with a busy roundabout, patience is often the safest decision.
4. Stay aware of what’s happening around you.
Keep scanning ahead and checking your surroundings for pedestrians, cyclists, parked cars, road signs and changing traffic conditions. Good anticipation gives you more time to react safely and avoid being caught by surprise.
5. Keep your speed appropriate and keep checking the signs.
Don’t focus only on the speed limit. Your speed should also reflect the road, weather, traffic and visibility. Keep looking for speed-limit changes, warning signs, road markings and other information that could affect your driving.
Remember: your test isn’t about being a perfect driver. It’s about showing that you can make safe, responsible decisions on your own.
