A year ago today I started my dream! MADD Motors! Since I started my apprenticeship at 17 I always knew I wanted to open my own garage and now I’ve been living my dream for a year! Time flies! A huge thank you to all my friends and family for the support and all of my customers for choosing me to look after their cars! It’s hugely appreciated! Here’s to many more years of MADD Motors!

This week we started a BMW M57 with 6hp auto swap into a defender for a customer, this 2013 tdci defender is a tidy example but the customer wanted more from the engine so in came the M57 with a stage 1 remap! This should be up around 300bhp and 500nm of torque! More than enough for a defender!

Another EcoBoost done last week, this particular belt hadn’t disintegrated much at all but had perished and cracked heavily! This customer was lucky to get this changed just in time!

Another busy few weeks at the garage! We had this Ford Transit ecoblue in for a wetbelt with sump removal to replace the oil pickup strainer and check for belt debris, this had covered 70,000 miles but the belt was actually in quite good condition! Got to keep up with those oil changes!

We had this discovery 3 in for some rust removal and repair, we cut out all of the rusty metal and fabricated all new pieces to repair it, once all welded in using the MIG181 it was ground back and rust proofed then all trims back on and looking as good as new!

Haven’t posted for a while due to how mental business has been recently! Here’s one from this week! Another little fiesta in for a wetbelt replacement! This one was a low mileage one with just 43,000 on the clock but with the belt being possibly 10 years old the owner wanted piece of mind which is understandable, another one completed! Keep ‘em coming!

FORD OWNERS!
Here at madd motors we are now providing wetbelt replacement services.
Do you have a Ford 1.0 Ecoboost or 2.0 EcoBlue?
Did you know that these engines have timing belts that run in oil?
Because of this, the belts can degrade and age prematurely which causes them to fail and cause catastrophic engine failure.
If your vehicle has done 60-70,000 miles then it’s worth looking into getting the timing belt or wetbelt replaced.

Need your wetbelt replacing in west Cornwall? Give us a call or message for a quote! This week we had a customer bring in their 1.0 ecoboost fiesta, only covered 40,000 miles but 9 years old, they’ve owned it since new and have always had the oil changed every year, on first glance the belt didn’t look too bad but on closer inspection some of the cracks were very deep and they definitely picked a good time to replace it! Another one saved from engine destruction! It should keep them going for another few years!
