So, today is the day that you take control of booking your driving test, if you need to swap, details on how to do this are below 🚗

❗ REMINDER ❗

From tomorrow, YOU (the learner driver) and you only are allowed to book and manage your driving test which means your instructor isn't allowed to do this ⛔

If you do need to swap with another student you will both need to be available and one student will call the DVSA to give the details of the swap then the DVSA will contact the other student at the same time to confirm they are happy to swap then they will complete the swap over the phone and email confirmation will be sent to each student. Any questions please just ask 😊

Congratulations to Caitlin from Failsworth who passed this morning. What a great way to start the week and was definitely worth the 5.45am.get up!!! It was an amazing drive with only 3 driver faults and shows that hard work and determination pays off 💪

You were an absolute pleasure to teach and I'll miss our lessons, we always had a good laugh 😂

From 12 May, only you as the learner driver will be able to book and manage your car driving test.

This means your driving instructor won’t be allowed to do this for you.

🚨 BIG DRIVING TEST CHANGES COME INTO EFFECT THIS MONTH 🚨

🚗 Important Updates to Booking Your Driving Test

The DVSA are introducing major changes to how driving tests can be booked and managed. ⚠️

👉 The next BIG change comes into effect on 12 May – make sure you’re aware!

Details below:

🔹 Limited changes
You can now only make 2 changes to your test booking. If you used changes before 31 March 2026, you’ll receive 2 new ones from that date.

🔹 What counts as a change
Changing the date, time, test centre, or swapping with another learner counts as 1 change (even if multiple details are changed at once).

🔹 What doesn’t count
Updating contact details, adding/removing an instructor, or changes made by DVSA (e.g. bad weather).
👉 If DVSA changes your test, your allowance resets to 2 (any extra changes must be made by phone).

🔹 More than 2 changes?
You’ll need to cancel and rebook. You’ll receive a full refund if you cancel at least 10 working days before your test.

🚨🚨 MAJOR CHANGE – FROM 12 MAY 2026 🚨🚨

🔹 Who can make changes

❗ ONLY the learner themselves can change, cancel, or swap their test.

❗ It will be illegal for anyone else to do it which means your instructor can no longer book or swap your test for you. You need to have a conversation with your instructor BEFORE you book your test to make sure you will be ready as if you are not ready by the date you have booked, you only have 2 chances to change it❗

The next major change comes into effect early June
🔹 Where you can move your test (from 9 June 2026)
You can only move your test to:
• One of the 3 nearest test centres, or
• The original centre you booked

⚠️ Ensure you have a conversation with your instructor BEFORE booking your test and use your changes wisely to avoid losing your test! ✅
