This week’s Friday Roundup is all about new technology at RetroFord!

We’ve been 3D printing prototypes for new products, fired up our new xTool laser cutter, and we’ll show you it in action.

We also take a look at our improved engine packaging after a few transit-damage issues, plus some of our ultra-short-body front struts for Mk1 & Mk2 Es**rts and Capris.

Friday Roundup!

This week we’re showing you how to give your Zetec the classic BDA look. We’ll run through all the parts you’ll need, from rocker covers and plug leads to the finishing touches that transform the appearance while keeping modern Zetec reliability.

We also take a quick look at the Es**rt with its new wheels fitted. Most of you said we should go for Lotus rims… we’ve gone in a different direction.

And as for the engine? Plenty of people told us not to change it. So naturally… we’re fitting a Zetec.

Early start this morning saw me head over to the Mk1 Cortina Owners Club Rally at Stratford Racecourse. It was great to catch up with some familiar faces, have a chat, and see some absolutely stunning classic Fords.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing quite a few younger enthusiasts getting involved with these old Fords. It’s great to see the next generation taking an interest—it’ll help keep the scene alive for years to come. The whole show had a really nice, relaxed atmosphere, and it was a pleasure to be part of it.

The Mk1 Es**rt completed the 130-mile round trip without missing a beat, and on the way home the odometer rolled over to 24,000 miles. It almost seems a shame to pull the original engine out and fit a Zetec… almost! 😄

Thanks to everyone who stopped for a chat today. Hopefully see you all again soon.
