Land Rover 101 Disc Brake Conversion – Answering a few of your questions...

We've been getting quite a few enquiries recently about our Land Rover 101 Forward Control Disc Brake Conversion, so here are the answers to some of the most common questions.

❓ Will it fit under standard 101 wheels?
Yes. The conversion has been designed to fit beneath standard 101 wheel rims.
❓ Can I fit it myself?
Yes. The complete DIY kit is £2,150 + VAT and is suitable for competent home mechanics.
❓ Do I have to make my own brake pipes?
No. Many customers choose to make their own brake pipes to save a little money, but we can also supply a complete stainless steel/PTFE brake pipe kit, so there are no brake pipes to manufacture—simply fit the kit and connect everything up.
❓ Can you fit it for me?
Yes. If you'd prefer, we can carry out the complete installation here at Able Engineering for £1,200 + VAT.
❓ What are the advantages?

🔧 Another 101 transformed and out the door! 🔧

Another Land Rover 101 Forward Control completed with our power steering conversion and disc brake setup — making it much easier to drive and bringing the braking up to date.

The owner feared the worst when he thought the transfer box had failed on his 101. Fortunately, the problem turned out to be much simpler.

After diagnosing the fault, we found the issue was a worn drive fl**ge. A replacement drive fl**ge was fitted, and the vehicle is now back on the road and ready for many more miles.

Sometimes the simplest fix is the best outcome!
