What a weekend! 🏁🔥

Finally got around to our post woodpecker report😅

First ever rally in the Fiesta Rally4 and we came away with the class win 🏆 and 28th overall!

Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the Rally4 journey.

A massive THANK YOU to Ron & Shirley from Restruct for making it happen. Also a huge thanks to all of our sponsors and supporters — it really does mean a lot and we couldn’t do it without you.

Big thanks to Dad for all the work getting the car prepared and ready to go. The car was brilliant all weekend and ran faultlessly.

It was also great to see Richard out in the hire car putting in some really good times! 👌

And of course, a massive shout-out to everyone in service. We couldn’t do it without you!

The weekend was a massive learning curve for me. There’s definitely more speed to come with more seat time and a few setup changes to make the car feel a bit more comfortable and suit me better.💪

Now it’s time to sit down, figure out what’s next and hopefully get back out there soon!

🏁 It’s finally happened! 🏁

I’ve finally had my new rally car stickered up, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how it looks! 😍

The car is now proudly wearing the Restruct colours, and I’m still feeling absolutely over the moon with the opportunity I’ve been given!

A massive thank you to Ron and Shirley from Restruct for buying the car for me and putting their faith in me. I genuinely can’t thank you enough — this is an incredible opportunity and one I certainly won’t take for granted. ❤️🏁

A huge thank you also to Matt from Matthew Mills Graphic Design Limited for creating the design and bringing the Restruct livery together, and to Sign it for doing such a brilliant job applying all the graphics to the car. It looks absolutely fantastic!

I also want to say a massive thank you to Keith from Total Spray Solutions for his support, and to Baz from Jordan Road Surfacing for his support. It really means a lot to have you both behind me. Also to everyone else who’s sponsoring us to make this possible!

Seeing the finished car for the first time has made it all feel very real.

I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and finally start this new chapter. I’ll be giving it everything and doing my absolute best to make everyone who has supported me proud.

Successful first test in the Rally4 Fiesta last week! We’re starting to settle into the car and get more comfortable with it, and it’s been a really positive step forward.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support us, offer advice and lend a hand throughout the day. Special thanks to James Morgan for his help with the damper setup, as well as sharing plenty of useful tips and techniques. Thanks also to John at Phil Price Rally School for providing a fantastic test venue.

Also good to try some different tyre options to, thanks to Baz Jordan for supplying us with some Michelins to try.

It was great to see Richard Stoodley out testing the hire Micra too, proving he’s definitely still got the skills behind the wheel!

Hopefully we’ve got another test lined up soon, then it’ll be time to get an entry in for our first rally in the new car… 👀

A very late post about our Nicky Grist Stages 🏁

Back in the Micra for the Nicky Grist Stages with Emma on the notes this time and it certainly wasn't a straightforward day! 🫣

We settled into a good rhythm from the start and put together three clean stages despite the dust. We were also having a great battle throughout the morning with Nigel and Kaz in the Nova, which made it even more enjoyable. 😃

Things took a turn on the final stage before service when the car started cutting out before eventually stopping just after the flying finish. After a quick check, we found the fuel pump fuse had melted. In the rush to move the car out of the way for the next crew, I forgot one very important job... fastening the bonnet pins! 🤦‍♂️ It didn't take long to realise, as the bonnet came up on the road section and left us needing a new windscreen before we could head back out.

Everyone in service were absolutely outstanding. They worked flat out to fit a temporary screen, sort the electrical issue and have us back out on time for the afternoon loop. A huge effort from everyone involved. 🫶

The afternoon started well, but the next stage had more drama in store. I clipped a hole on the inside of a corner which knocked a bonnet pin loose. About a mile later the bonnet lifted, leaving me with no view ahead, and we ended up beached in the bank. Thanks to some fantastic spectators, we were recovered within a few minutes and able to carry on—although the front bumper decided it had seen enough!

From there it was all about getting the Micra to the finish. A strange noise late in the day had us convinced we'd picked up a puncture, but it turned out to be the temporary windscreen moving around. Emma's job for the final stage was simply to keep reminding me to bring it home in one piece! 😅

Considering everything the day threw at us, we're delighted to finish 95th overall, 5th in class and 2nd Celtic Micra Challenge crew. A result that definitely felt earned. 💪

A massive thank you to our brilliant service crew for all their hard work, the organisers, marshals and rescue crews for another top-class event, the spectators who gave us a helping hand when we needed it most, and our sponsors for their continued support. None of it would be possible without you. 🙏

Also me and Emma are still talking with no cross words through the day so the marriage isn’t over before it started🤣

A year ago, Dylan Fowler-Bishop and Dan Evans were at their lowest point in their battle for the BTRDA Bronze Star Championship.

Their Micra went off the road into a ditch on the Plains Rally, with a level of damage that would have written most clubman teams’ seasons off in one thump.

However, in a matter of days, the Micra was stripped down and being rebuilt in record time. The effort would prove to be worth it, with the pair taking the title by a narrow margin in a down-to-the-wire battle with multiple champions Nigel and Kaz Jenkins.
