Les specialises in supporting anxious and nervous drivers 🚗, using a calm, patient and understanding approach to help you rebuild confidence at your own pace. There is never any pressure — the pace of every lesson is set entirely by you, not the instructor 🧘‍♂️.

To make sure your sessions are tailored from the very beginning, you’ll complete a short questionnaire 📝 exploring your feelings and experiences around driving. This helps Les understand exactly how to support you in the most effective way.

🎉🚗 A HUGE congratulations to Cara on passing her driving test FIRST TIME with an incredible ZERO FAULTS! 🚗🎉

Passing your driving test is a fantastic achievement… but passing first time with no driving faults at all is something truly exceptional. Very few learner drivers achieve a completely fault-free drive, making Cara’s result even more impressive. 🌟

Cara was understandably nervous before her test, but she didn’t let those nerves take over. She trusted the skills she’d developed throughout her lessons and used her own personal techniques to stay calm, focused and in control. That allowed her to drive safely, make good decisions and show the examiner exactly what she was capable of, even if she took the wrong turn on a roundabout and had to do a 3 point turn!

This result wasn’t about perfection—it was about consistent safe driving, excellent planning and making the right decisions throughout the drive.

Well done, Cara! It’s been a pleasure helping you become not just someone who has passed a test, but a safe and confident driver for life. Wishing you many years of safe and enjoyable driving. 🚗💚

🚗 Today it was my turn to face the driving examiners...

After spending years helping learner drivers prepare for their driving tests, today the roles were reversed, and I was the one being assessed.

I'm incredibly proud to say that I passed the RoSPA Advanced Driving Test with a GOLD Award 🥇

A RoSPA Gold is the highest grade that can be achieved and recognises an exceptionally high standard of safe, systematic and defensive driving. The assessment isn't about showing off driving skills—it's about consistently making safe decisions, anticipating hazards early, planning well ahead and demonstrating excellent observation, judgement and vehicle control.

Advanced driving is all about reducing risk. It's about understanding what's happening around you, recognising potential hazards before they develop and always having a safe plan. These are the skills that help prevent collisions and make drivers safer for life.

For me, this achievement is about far more than gaining another qualification.

As a driving instructor, continually improving my own driving means I can pass those skills directly on to my learner drivers. The higher my own standards become, the higher the standard I can teach.

My aim has never been to simply help people pass a driving test.

My goal is to develop thinking drivers who can continue making safe decisions long after they've passed their test—reducing their risk of being involved in a crash and giving them the confidence to deal with whatever they face on the road.

Learning never stops, and I firmly believe that if I'm asking my learners to keep improving, I should be doing exactly the same myself.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way, especially my trainer Kim.

Here's to continuing to learn, develop and help create safer drivers for life. 🚗💚
