❄️ Driving in the Snow Today?
Read This FIRST. ❄️
If you don’t need to go out — DON’T.
The safest journey today is the one you don’t make.
With heavy snow and icy conditions across our area, roads are slippery, visibility is low, and hazards are high.
But if driving is essential, be prepared. Here’s what every driver needs to know. 👇
✅ DOs for Driving in Snow & Ice:
✅ Do drive slowly and smoothly – harsh movements cause skids.
✅ Do increase your following distance – 10 seconds minimum.
✅ Do clear ALL snow and ice from your windows, mirrors, lights, and roof.
✅ Do use low gears when setting off or climbing hills.
✅ Do brake gently and in good time.
✅ Do carry winter essentials: blanket, charged phone, scraper, water, snacks.
🚫 DON’Ts for Driving in Snow & Ice:
❌ Don’t go out unless it’s essential. Reschedule non-urgent trips.
❌ Don’t rely on 4WD or ABS — they're not foolproof.
❌ Don’t use cruise control. You need full control at all times.
❌ Don’t tailgate. Stopping distances can be 10x longer in snow or ice.
❌ Don’t panic in a skid – steer into it and ease off the accelerator.
❌ Don’t drive with snow on your windows or roof. It's illegal and unsafe.
****You don’t rise to the level of the conditions — you fall to the level of your preparation.*****
