Hi, I’m Martin and I’ve recently started painting helmets for kart racers.

As a small child I was fascinated by F1 driver’s helmet designs and could identify every driver just from their helmet at the tender age of 6!

I raced karts at national level back in the 90’s and as my school friends will confirm, every school book was full of doodles of how I’d like my helmet painted.

Designing and painting helmets is something I’d always wanted to do but I never got around to trying it.

Fast forward to this year and an old karting friend convinced me to come out of retirement and that plain white helmet was just staring at me. With a bit of spare time, a trip to Halfords and a load of YouTube videos I set about making my own creation.

The great comments I received led to me investing in a more professional set up with spray guns and air brushes and a dedicated space to carry out the work.
