This little DS3 was collected from a customers house due to the gearbox going into gear but the vehicle not providing drive,

Clutch had burned out and worn so would no longer function.

Collected, 3 piece clutch kit supplied and fitted and vehicle fully driving and operating how it should be and the customer back on the road in no time at all.

The owner of this van had contacted me stating their van was rolling backwards on their drive and they had to leave it in gear to stop this.

Inspected and found that the NSR handbrake cable was seized up and was no longer allowing for the caliper to operate, OSR was stiff but slightly working so both rear handbrake cables replaced with a new adjuster mechanism due to this being corroded.

Handbrake is now fully operational and well within the guidelines for MOT and road worthiness.

Had the owner of the Audi A3 S Line 2.0 diesel contact me saying he has an excessive amount of oil used he was topping it up every 500 miles, after a quick diagnosis the positive crankcase ventilation was blocked which was sending oil down into the inlet manifold which was burning it away, part supplied and fitted and all pipes cleaned out and inspected for issues, none found.

Vehicle back on the road and no longer using oil.

Abarth 500 in for a full major service today with vehicle health check ready for the MOT, advised the customer that brake discs were worn close to limit and the two top mounts on the front had excessive play.

Vehicle serviced and MOT’d with no advisories ready for another year of driving for the customer

Lovely example of a BMW 4 series Gran coupe in today. Had previously been in a garage a number of times as the OSR Driveshaft inner CV joint kept coming out from the Differential when driving,

The customer had already had extensive work from the previous garage which did not resolve the issue and was told he needed a new Differential to ‘potentially’ sort the issue out but no guarantee.

After a quick inspection I had found that the driveshaft locking snap ring was work and was not doing its job sufficiently to ensure a secure grasp on the inner race of the differential. On inspection of the differential due to the driveshaft being out a number of times the differential oil has spilled out causing the gears to run dry, the customer then wanted to get a reconditioned one to ensure no future damage and to future proof the vehicle and restore his faith in the vehicle once again.

Had this landrover Range Rover Evoque in for the last couple of days.

Where to start with this one, Customer got in contact with me about a rear noise coming from the car under breaking even though a local big Autocentre had just replaced the brake pads to get the car through the MOT. I had found on inspection that the rear brakes had not been done to a satisfactory level and advised the customer and aided in her getting in contact and getting the work done on the car correctly and to a more satisfactory standard without any extra cost to her.

After the rear brake job by a different garage was rectified the car then came to me with a heavy clutch slip happening in gears under acceleration, this job started off as a simple 3 piece clutch replacement however when I had removed the subframe I had uncovered multiple problems, spoken to the customer and explained that the drive shafts had sized into the hubs, the NSF wheel bearing circlip had deteriorated and no longer holding the bearing in place, the outer track rod arm rubber boots were deteriorating and the front lower arm ball joints had excessive play.

Going through the options I had stopped work at a point where there was no further labour charges even if the customer had got the new parts so therefore saved her money.

Extensive work carried out on this car and now the car drives brand new. Work includes;
3 piece clutch kit supplied and fitted
Both front lower suspension arms fitted
Both front driveshafts supplied and fitted
Both front drop links supplied and fitted
Both front steering knuckles with bearing supplied and fitted
Front discs and pads replaced
Gearbox oil replaced
And a general health check of the vehicle which came back all good

All work carried out mobile

Quick call out job this evening,

Customer had called with their passengers side wing mirror broken off and severely damaged.

Messaging back and forth I assisted in sourcing a new wing mirror in the same colour as her car and fitted it for her when it had arrived.

Fully fitted and tested and all working well.

Had this Volkswagen Golf in for a front grinding noise.

Diagnosed to be the front wheel bearing had worn out and had too much play. Upon stripping down the wheel station the bearing fell apart before the slide hammer could even be removed from my toolbox, customer was very lucky and caught this at the perfect time.

New wheel bearing supplied and fitted and customer now driving with peace of mind and a fully functioning car.

Something a little different today.

1972 MG midget 1275cc in today for a new vinyl roof to replace the old tired one which had holes in the rear windows and had faded, rust removal and repainted the frame for the customer and fitted the new Vinyl Roof to this classic car

Very nice working on an old classic today.

Customer called me today as his Smart Forfour was selecting gears however was not engaging drive in any gear.

After looking at the car and a couple of small tests and remedies to diagnose I pin pointed the fault to being a worn out clutch pressure plate and friction plate, safe to say they got their moneys worth from this one.

New 3 piece clutch kit fitted, gearbox oil changed and clutch hydraulic system bled to allow for maximum efficiency going forward.

On the test drive I had noticed the EML light was illuminated so carried out a complimentary diagnostics check for the customer which came up as Oxygen sensor and catalytic converter bank 1, spoke to the customer and they had said the car was parked up broken for some time so cleared the fault codes and the memory and after a good drive the codes did not return.

One happy customer back on the road in no time at all without the fuss of having to get the car recovered to the garage and for a fraction of the cost.
