Need a Van or Car Hire??

Nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our customers, so during the pandemic you can feel confident and safe when booking one of our hire vehicles here at KEMS Autos Ltd, Practical Car and Van Rental.

We have a high standard for cleanliness and are carrying out all the extra necessary checks, so you feel confident when driving our vehicles.

We have all the necessary signage up on entering the reception, a bell should you want us to come out to you, a safety screen fitted to ensure total safety when completing rental agreements, appropriate PPE and sanitising hand wash available to everyone that attends.

In the vehicles we are ensuring that extensive cleaning is carried out, such as gearsticks, door handles, keys, handbrakes and steering wheels, a deep clean of the interior of all our vehicles using our new sanitising vapour machine which can be seen on the videos attached.
If you need a hire vehicle, van or car we are open during this second lockdown and look forward being able to serve you.

We are open at the present time for MOTs/essential work and van/car rentals.

Office staff are working from home and we have limited staff in the workshop, we would like to avoid any face to face contact with anyone if possible for everyone's safety. We can collect and deliver your vehicle (not including car/van hire), a service we have always offered our regular local customers.

The health of the nation has to be at the forefront for everyone at this worrying time with COVID-19 cases rising every day.

We would like to reassure all our existing customers and any new customers that we are taking all the necessary protective measures to ensure that we are able to protect both you and ourselves during the working day.

We have always used, and will continue to use car protective seat covers and will ensure when entering a customer's vehicle, we will wear gloves and use cleansing wipes to avoid any contamination or further spread of this virus.

A bit of by a TerraClean dealer, but not until I’d identified why it had blocked in the first place and sorted that.

The owner of this car had been driving around with a check engine light on for over a year, her usual garage had said it’s nothing to worry about and just kept clearing the fault.

Unfortunately this all too common, if the garage actually understood what the fault referred to and what the consequences were of just leaving it unrepaired this owners bill would have been less than half of today’s bill.

The fault was an exhaust temperature sensor, these need to be working as the process of regeneration (self-cleaning) of the requires these to be working so the ECU, knows the correct temperature & can initiate the process.

There was a faulty glow plug which we also replaced too as these are also activated during DPF regeneration.

The moral of the story is; if your vehicle has a fault don’t be fobbed off by a lazy mechanic - get it sorted sooner rather than later, it will pay dividends.

This Honda CRV was presented to one of service centres in "limp-mode" with several error lights relating to DPF faults illuminated.

They carried out initial diagnostics to check if the unit was actually blocked... the onboard computer had logged over 60grams of soot and measured 12psi back pressure, which is high. They then confirmed the back pressure with a manual pressure check.

Using the patented Terraclean solution thy were able to clear the blockage on the vehicle which reduced the back pressure down to just 0.5psi and brought the vehicle out of limp-mode, then they carried out a road test and allowed the vehicle to carry out a successful regeneration👍.

The vehicle is now out of limp mode, all lights extinguished and running as it should be.
