DRIVING TEST MYTHS PART 2..... 👀🙃
" Booking a test at the end of the week or the month means you will fail? " 😮
❌️MYTH. Examiners don't have pass/fail quotas, so the calendar date has ZERO bearing on your result. They don't run out of passes to give out!
" The examiner knows that you've FAILED before" 📝
❌️ MYTH. Your examiner only knows it's a test; they don't have your test history.
I've had learners fail and pass within weeks with the same examiner... were the examiner had genuinely no memory of failing them previously! 👀
" Bumping the kerb during the parallel park means I've failed " 💥
❌️MYTH (mostly!). A heavy mount or crashing onto the pavement could be a serious fault, but a gentle, controlled brush of the kerb might only be a minor driving fault or completely ignored!
And you are allowed to fix a manoeuvre.
" Driving slower.... will mean I will pass " 🐌
❌️ MYTH. Crawling along unnecessarily slow( like a wee old granny ) can actually land you a minor (or serious) fault for undue hesitation or holding up traffic flow. The goal is to drive at a safe, appropriate speed for the road conditions.
" Going the wrong direction means it's game over " 🫠
❌️MYTH. Taking a wrong turn safely might not even get you a fault (it's at the examiner's discretion). The examiner is checking how you safely navigate following road signs or a sat nav. If you miss a turn safely, they or the sat nav will just reroute you
Game is very much still on! ✅
