🔥 FORD MONDEO 2.0 TDCi — STAGE 1 🔥

More pulling power for this Mondeo 💪 This 2.0 TDCi came to MMR for a Stage 1 remap alongside DPF and EGR solutions, with the customer having already completed the physical DPF work before our visit.

We took care of the software, with the Stage 1 calibration aimed at stronger mid-range performance and a more responsive feel when accelerating.

🔧 We carried out:

• Stage 1 ECU remap
• DPF software solution
• EGR software solution

📈 Estimated power and torque:

✅ 163 hp ➜ 200 hp
✅ 340 Nm ➜ 415 Nm
✅ An increase of 37 hp and 75 Nm

That extra mid-range torque is where this diesel stands to benefit most—giving it more pull when you need it, without having to work through the gears as much.

🔧 FORD KUGA — REMAP CORRECTION 🔧

This Ford Kuga came to us running rough and smoking after a Stage 1 remap with DPF and EGR solutions had been carried out elsewhere. Things weren’t right, so the customer contacted MMR to get it sorted.

We headed out and replaced the previous map with a file based on the original software, returning the power settings to stock and applying our DPF and EGR solutions.

We carried out:

• Removal of the previous Stage 1 map
• Return to standard power settings
• DPF solution
• EGR solution

The results:

✅ Rough running resolved
✅ Smoking issue resolved
✅ Running smoothly again
✅ Happy customer

A job like this is about getting the vehicle running properly again. With the previous software replaced, this Kuga is now running as it should—another customer looked after by MMR. 👌

A late finish for MMR with this 2017 Volkswagen Caddy, which came in for an AdBlue, DPF and EGR solution. A busy day doesn’t always end when the sun goes down—this one kept us working into the evening! 🔧

We carried out:

PEUGEOT RIFTER — ADBLUE SOLUTION 🔧

This 2020 Peugeot Rifter came to us for an AdBlue software solution, with this particular job requiring the ECU to be removed from the vehicle for bench programming.

There was a little more hands-on work involved with this one. Once the ECU was removed, we connected directly to it on the bench to carry out the software work before refitting it to the vehicle.

We carried out:

• ECU removal from the vehicle
• Direct connection to the ECU on the bench
• AdBlue software programming
• ECU refitting following completion

Results:

✅ Required AdBlue software work completed
✅ ECU successfully programmed on the bench
✅ ECU refitted to the vehicle

This job shows another side of the work we carry out at MMR. Depending on the vehicle and ECU, programming can involve removal and a direct bench connection, so the work extends beyond plugging into the vehicle’s diagnostic socket.

MK6 VW GOLF 2.0 TDI — STAGE 1 REMAP ⚡

This 2012 Golf came to us for a Stage 1 remap, taking its original 140 bhp setup up a level with an ECU software upgrade.

The focus was on giving the customer more usable performance for everyday driving, with increased power and torque to make better use of the 2.0 TDI engine.

We carried out:

- Stage 1 ECU remapping
- Power and torque calibration
- Installation of the updated ECU software

Results:

- ✅ Power increased from 140 bhp ➡️ approximately 190 bhp
- ✅ Torque now approximately 440 Nm
- ✅ Around 50 bhp gained over the original output

With the software work completed, this Golf now has a healthy increase in performance. The additional torque is a big part of the upgrade, bringing extra pulling power alongside the increase in bhp.

The job went well and the customer was over the moon with the result. Always good to hear that feedback after completing a job—another Golf sorted and another happy customer! 👊

CITROËN SPACETOURER – ADBLUE SOLUTION & STOP/START DISABLE 🔧

This Citroën SpaceTourer 1.6 diesel came to us for an AdBlue software solution, with the customer also wanting the stop/start system disabled.

They weren’t a fan of the engine cutting out when stationary or having to manually switch the system off every journey, so we took care of this alongside the AdBlue work.

Work completed:

✅ AdBlue software solution

✅ Stop/start disabled at the customer’s request

✅ No need to switch stop/start off each journey

2015 VAUXHALL INSIGNIA 2.0 CDTI — DPF & EGR SOLUTIONS 🔧

This 2015 Vauxhall Insignia, powered by the 120hp 2.0 CDTI engine, came to us for professional DPF and EGR software solutions.

On this particular ECU, the work couldn’t be completed through the vehicle’s standard diagnostic port. The ECU had to be carefully removed from the vehicle and connected directly to our tuning equipment using the correct bench pin connections.

We carried out:

• Full vehicle diagnostics
• ECU removal from the vehicle
• Direct bench connection using the correct pinout
• Original ECU software read and secure backup
• DPF and EGR software solutions
• Modified software written directly to the ECU
• ECU refitted and final diagnostic checks completed

✅ DPF software solution completed
✅ EGR software solution completed
✅ Original ECU file safely backed up
✅ ECU refitted correctly
✅ Vehicle checked and operating as it should

This job required considerably more than a standard plug-in procedure, but with the correct equipment and knowledge, the ECU was safely read, programmed and refitted from start to finish.

VAUXHALL VIVARO — ADBLUE SOLUTION 🔧

This Vauxhall Vivaro came to us experiencing an AdBlue system fault, causing warning messages on the dashboard and leaving the customer needing a reliable solution.

We began by carrying out a full diagnostic scan to identify the faults stored within the system and confirm the correct course of action. Once diagnosed, we completed the required AdBlue software solution before clearing the associated warning messages and fault codes.

We carried out:

• Full vehicle diagnostics
• ECU health and fault-code checks
• AdBlue system assessment
• Professional AdBlue software solution
• Final checks to confirm correct operation

MK5 GOLF GTI — STAGE 1 REMAP ⚡

This clean Mk5 Golf GTI came to us completely standard, still running its original factory setup with no performance modifications or previous tuning.

Powered by the legendary 2.0 TFSI BWA engine, these GTIs respond brilliantly to software alone and make the perfect base for a strong Stage 1 calibration.

Before carrying out the remap, we completed the necessary vehicle diagnostics and ECU health checks to ensure everything was operating correctly and the car was suitable for tuning.

We carried out:

• Full vehicle diagnostics
• ECU health and fault-code checks
• Original ECU software read and backup
• Stage 1 remap calibration
• Software optimisation for the standard hardware

Results:

✅ Power increased from 200hp ➡️ 250hp
✅ Torque increased from 280Nm ➡️ 360Nm
✅ Sharper throttle response
✅ Much stronger mid-range pull
✅ Smoother power delivery
✅ Improved acceleration through the gears
✅ Better overall drivability

With an increase of approximately 50hp and 80Nm, the difference was noticeable straight away. The car now feels far more responsive, pulls considerably harder through the rev range and delivers the performance the BWA engine is known for, all while retaining its completely standard hardware setup.

A lovely, unmodified example that has now been properly woken up with a strong and smooth Stage 1 tune. The vehicle is running perfectly and the customer was over the moon with the transformation! 👊

I’m proud to announce that Malvern Mobile Remaps is officially sponsoring Try-Umphs Charity Rugby, a new charity rugby team set up by a good mate of mine to bring the community together and raise money for the MND Association.

Motor neurone disease attacks the nerves responsible for controlling movement, causing muscles to gradually weaken. It can affect a person’s ability to walk, speak, eat and breathe, and unfortunately there is currently no cure.

It’s a devastating condition for those living with it and their families, which is why supporting the work of the MND Association is so important.

Try-Umphs will be holding charity rugby matches and community events to raise money and awareness for the cause, and I’m proud that MMR can support them from the very beginning.
