FOR SALE: 1958 BMW 600 Limousine

Before M cars, carbon fibre and kidney grilles the size of garden gates… BMW made this.

A four-seat, rear-engined, 600cc little oddball with a front door you quite literally climb through.

And this one has a story.

Originally from Sweden, it was bought in 2010 and then driven all the way back to London. Somewhere near Hamburg it even bumped into Classic & Sports Car, ended up being photographed and later featured in the magazine.

It’s since lived a rather more relaxed life in collections, and has been with our current owner for a number of years.

Does it want some recommissioning? Yes.

Could you restore it? Absolutely.

Could you also just sympathetically recommission it, embrace the patina and enjoy being the most interesting person at every Cars & Coffee? Also yes.

It may not be fast.

It may not be practical.

But look at it. 😂

A truly beautiful Etype - neo classic/ contemporary spec .

Our 1973 Series 3 V12 Roadster is a beautifully restored example, finished in Silver/Grey over Russet Red and showing just 2,011 miles since restoration.

5.3-litre V12, manual gearbox, long-term Essex ownership and a cracking history file to go with it.

The Series 3 is the E-Type you can really use, more space, more torque, power steering and that wonderfully smooth V12 up front.

There are DB6s… and then there are DB6s with a story.

This 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Mk1 Volante is one of just 140 examples built, and combines rarity, proper provenance and one of the best-looking shapes ever to leave Newport Pagnell.

Chassis 3659/R was supplied new by H.R. Owen in November 1967, originally finished in Autumn Gold, and was later owned by Jools Holland OBE. During his ownership the car was converted from automatic to manual, while its history also includes restoration work by LT Classics and significant specialist attention from R.S. Williams.

It’s now presented beautifully in sage , with power steering added for usability, and remains exactly what a great classic Aston should be: elegant, charismatic and genuinely special to drive.

One of just 70 Aston Martin DB4 Convertibles built, and this one has the history to match.

A 1963 Series V, beautifully restored, concours presented and a past AMOC Silverstone Concours award winner, with around two decades spent in the Sondes Fields Collection.

Now finished in Blu Sierra and upgraded by RS Williams to 4.2 litres, it’s a genuinely special example of one of Aston Martin’s rarest and most elegant road cars.

A V10. In an estate. With a manual gearbox.

This is exactly the sort of slightly unhinged BMW we love.

This E61 M5 Touring is powered by BMW’s legendary 5.0-litre naturally aspirated S85 V10, but this one has been taken a step further with a proper six-speed manual conversion, 4.1 Wavetrac differential and Eventuri intake.

And it hasn’t just been modified for the sake of it.

In February 2021, it had a huge programme of work with Everything M, including:

• Manual conversion with new clutch and flywheel
• 4.1 Wavetrac differential
• ACL rod bearings
• VANOS overhaul
• VANOS high-pressure line
• 10 new injectors
• Suspension arms and bushes

A proper one for the purists… and a very special E-Type indeed.

1965 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Fixed Head Coupé, finished in its original factory combination of Opalescent Silver Blue over Dark Blue.

This is exactly the sort of E-Type we love. Covered headlights, right-hand drive, manual gearbox, wire wheels, the glorious 4.2 XK straight-six and one of the cleanest shapes ever put on four wheels.

What makes this car even more interesting is the history.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust paperwork confirms:
• Manufactured 31 August 1965
• Chassis 1E 20916
• Body 4E 22735
• Gearbox EJ 4660
• Original colour, Opalescent Silver Blue
• Original interior, Dark Blue
• Original registration DEA 615C
• Factory record unusually states: “Slave Engine Fitted”

That last point makes this one particularly fascinating. Supporting correspondence in the file confirms the factory record and discusses Jaguar’s use of slave engines during factory testing and pre-delivery work.

A genuinely unusual and well-documented piece of Jaguar history.

And then there’s the car itself…

A Series 1 E-Type FHC in this colour looks particularly special. Elegant, purposeful and still one of the greatest shapes ever produced.

In our opinion, this represents a very fine and highly desirable E-Type, with the right specification, the right look and a genuinely interesting story behind it.

1963 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster

This one has a proper story.

What started life as the tired old E-Type you see in the restoration photos was stripped back, rebuilt and brought back to life over a four-year restoration programme, with a huge photographic and invoice file documenting the process from start to finish.

And the finished result is pretty special.

Series 1, 3.8-litre, left-hand drive, covered headlights, wire wheels and that shape. There are very few cars that need less introduction than an early E-Type Roadster.

We are incredibly proud to offer this exceptional Aston Martin DB4 Series 2, a beautifully restored example of one of the most important and recognisable British GT cars ever produced.

First supplied on 27th May 1960, chassis history for ‘7777 DA’ is extensively documented, with a substantial archive charting its ownership, maintenance and works over more than six decades.

Its most recent custodian commissioned a comprehensive restoration, including bodywork, retrimming, mechanical overhaul and underbody work, resulting in the car you see today.

Finished in Aston Martin Racing Green over Tan, it is a truly spectacular specification.

Now finished in Aston Martin Racing Green with a Tan interior, it has undergone extensive restoration and mechanical work with respected specialists.
