What a weekend at the Pod!!!. It was a weekend of highs and one very low. I think we set (and hope to continue setting) a record that I've never seen done before and will be hard to match. We have now attended two meetings so far this year, with a total of 6 days racing and we have had a PB every day!! The new supercharger is the reason for the extra power and the tuning of the engine, suspension and tyres is the reason we are getting better and better. This was the first points meeting of the year and we finished a disappointing 5th , partially due to our group withdrawing from racing after the terrible crash Sunday with one of our drivers being air lifted away from the track and two cars being badly damaged.
We had just made our best PB run and as our crew arrived at the end of the track to celebrate with Keith and tow El Loco back to the pits, we heard what sounded like a plane crash on the other side of the track banking. We all ran to the end of the bank to see a dragster, or what was left of it lying on its side in the grass at the end of the track. The rescue crews and medical crews were soon on the scene and we all waited with hope to see the driver climb out of the wreckage, but he didn't.
We towed El Loco back to the pits in silence, all of us in shock. the pits was the same, as most of our group had seen the crash from the start line (The dragster went though the lights at 143mph with no front wheels !) . Calling the meet for us was an easy decision, none of us could race not knowing if one of our family was OK. The air ambulance soon arrived, and lifted off with the driver and his wife on board .......
Later I was told by his crew chief as we helped him breakdown his pit, that he was talking when the chopper landed at the hospital, recognised his wife and answering simple questions. He also said he had no broken bones on his first scan .
That news made us all feel much better and we were able to celebrate our achievements of the weekend.......
I've put our rather disappointing result down to the very understandable calling of the racing early and myself
I must try harder and go after The Best Dressed extra points 😁😁😁
Well done team El Loco (special thanks to Ellis for the slow mo videos that will help us launch even faster)
Big thank you to all the team for putting up with me 😉

Last weekend I decided to go out for a little run in the A. I backed out of the bubble as usual and after letting the engine warm up a little I drove up the road at a responsible pace, then as the road was quiet........I give it a little ..... kicked down a gear and we were off!
But then as I lifted for the T junction, the throttle stuck open! I immediately hit the brakes and the fronts locked up! The brakes, especially the narrow fronts were not enough to hold the engine back. Quickly I hit the ignition and shut it off. I tried the throttle pedal and all seemed normal, until I got to a certain part when accelerating and it stuck again! This time the brakes held and I again had to shut the engine off and climbed out. I then turned the tick over up a little and limped home.......for a change of un**es LOL
