Preparing A New Maybach 💎

A timelapse is the only way of showing the meticulous and measured prep process - on average a 2/3 hour operation every time a car enters or exits our London site in W12.

This brand new Mercedes-Maybach passes through our Prep Zone, where it's carefully inspected, cleaned and prepared before taking its place in the bunker. Every stage follows the same documented process, ensuring each vehicle is stored in the best possible condition from day one.

Whether it's a newly delivered luxury saloon or a decades-old classic, the standard never changes. Consistency is what allows us to preserve every vehicle exactly as its owner expects.

The Ugliest Hypercar Ever Made? 🤔

Few road cars divide opinion quite like the McLaren Senna.

Built between 2018 and 2020, with production limited to just 500 examples, the Senna was designed with one objective: lap time. Its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, active aerodynamics and uncompromising chassis make it one of the most focused road cars ever produced.

That same focus also makes it a challenging car to handle off the circuit. It's exceptionally wide, remarkably low and visibility is limited, while the exposed carbon fibre demands careful handling at every stage.

Cars like this require more than simply being parked. At Windrush, we manage everything from secure storage and preparation to transport, ensuring the Senna arrives safely, whether it's returning to the bunker or heading out for its next track day.

Not every car at Windrush is a supercar, hypercar or priceless classic.

For many of our clients, value isn’t defined by a badge or a price tag. It might be a car they’ve owned for years, something with sentimental importance, a vehicle they simply don’t have space for at home, or one they want properly cared for between periods of use.

Whatever the reason, the standard of care remains the same.

From a Fiat 500 to a Mercedes G-Class, a modern BMW M2 or a cherished classic, each vehicle benefits from the same carefully managed storage environment and attention from our team.

Because ultimately, if a car matters enough to you to entrust it to Windrush, it matters to us too.

All Systems Go 🟢

Another busy week draws to a close at Windrush.
With the Summer weather on our side, it’s been a week of cars arriving, others heading out to be enjoyed, and plenty happening behind the scenes across the facilities.

There’s still work to be done before we call it a week. Cars to prepare, collections to organise and everything to have ready before we’re back at it on Monday.

The Cost Of Poor Storage 💸

A well-stored car doesn’t just preserve its condition. It protects its value.

Ten years ago, Ferrari F40s were changing hands for around £900,000. Today, comparable examples are worth in excess of £2 million.

During that same period, this F40 remained in storage at Windrush, appreciating by more than 110% while being cared for in a controlled environment designed to preserve every aspect of the car.

No one can predict the market, but owners can control how their vehicles are cared for. Proper storage is about protecting both the car itself and the investment it represents.

Arrival Of A Huracan STO 🐂

Every vehicle begins its time at Windrush in exactly the same way.

This Lamborghini Huracan STO arrives in our dedicated Drop Zone, where it’s handed over to the team before being moved into the bunker for preparation and storage. From the moment the keys change hands, every step follows a process refined over more than two decades.

The car is inspected, documented and prepared before taking its place in storage, ensuring it’s ready for its owner whenever the next drive calls.

Whether it’s a limited-production supercar or a cherished classic, the same attention to detail applies from arrival through to departure.

How Windrush Car Storage Began 💡

Like many good ideas, Windrush began by solving a personal problem.

More than 20 years ago, after spending five years building a Morgan-style car on an MGB chassis, the challenge became finding somewhere suitable to store it. That search led to the creation of Windrush Car Storage.

What started with one car soon grew as other owners began asking for the same level of care. For the first five years, Windrush was run during evenings and weekends alongside a career with Ferrari in Formula 1.

As more clients returned each winter, many choosing to leave their cars with us all year round, the business continued to grow. Eventually, it became clear that Windrush deserved to become the full-time focus.
Today, more than two decades later, we care for over 500 vehicles, but the philosophy remains the same as it was from the beginning: provide the kind of storage we’d want for our own cars.

Uncovering A Miura SV 🇮🇹

Few cars have shaped automotive history quite like the Lamborghini Miura SV.

Regarded by many as the world’s first true supercar, the SV represented the final and most developed version of the Miura, combining Marcello Gandini’s iconic design with a 3.9-litre V12 mounted transversely behind the driver.

Examples are exceptionally rare, making careful preservation all the more important. Seeing one emerge from the bunker is a reminder that some cars deserve to be protected just as much as they deserve to be driven.

The Story Behind This Jaguar 🇬🇧

Some cars are stored for convenience. Others are stored for a reason.

This Jaguar XK120 has been in our care for the past 15 years, having been entrusted to us following the passing of its original owner. It was always intended to be passed down through the family, but until the new owner was old enough to take responsibility for it, preserving the car became ours.

Before arriving at Windrush, it had undergone a full nut and bolt restoration. Over the years, it has been maintained carefully so that it remains in exceptional condition. In fact, an executive representing the family recently remarked that the car now presents even better than when it first arrived.

Today, it leaves the bunker for a very special occasion. After 15 years in storage, this XK120 is being collected for its owner’s wedding, with a bottle waiting on the passenger seat to mark the day.
