If there is something else that also spins the wheels of an motor vehicle apart of the engine it self is that most vehicles have something called Differential

A differential is a mechanical device that allows two wheels on the same axle to rotate at different speeds while still maintaining power to both wheels. It is used in vehicles with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The differential consists of several gears, including the ring gear, the pinion gear, and two side gears. The ring gear is attached to the axle, while the pinion gear is attached to the drive shaft. The two side gears are attached to the wheels.

When the drive shaft rotates, it turns the pinion gear, which in turn rotates the ring gear. The side gears, which are meshed with the ring gear, rotate in opposite directions to each other. This allows the wheels on the same axle to turn at different speeds.

For example, when a car is turning, the outside wheel has to travel a longer distance than the inside wheel. Without a differential, the outside wheel would have to drag along the road, causing tire wear and making the car difficult to maneuver. However, with a differential, the outside wheel can rotate faster than the inside wheel, allowing the car to turn smoothly.

In summary, a differential allows the wheels on the same axle to rotate at different speeds while still maintaining power to both wheels, improving vehicle performance and handling.

Have you recently checked the status of your differential and do you need to service your differential anytime sooner ?! Let me know by texting me through here 💯

In the last post we spoke about what battery stands for and what battery exacly does . Today we are still going talk about electrical power but in this case how the power of battery is being restored back to the battery as It required a HUGE amount of power to start up an engine and for that it’s the ALTERNATOR responsible for this operation.

What is an alternator ?!

An alternator is an electrical generator that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. It is typically used in automobiles to produce electrical power for the vehicle's electrical system and to recharge the battery. The alternator works by using the rotational motion of a rotor (typically driven by a belt from the engine) to induce an electrical current in a stationary coil of wire (the stator). The alternating current produced by the alternator is then rectified into direct current by a diode bridge and used to power the vehicle's electrical components and recharge the battery. Alternators are more efficient and reliable than the older style generators they replaced, and are used in most modern vehicles.

If there is something else that makes your vehicle to function and have the accurate and necessary power to boot the engine up well it’s the vehicles battery .
-A car battery is a rechargeable battery that provides electrical power to a vehicle's starting system, lights, and other accessories. It is typically a lead-acid battery, which means it consists of lead plates and an electrolyte solution made of sulfuric acid and water.

A vehicle battery typically contains a plastic case that holds several cells, each of which contains two metal plates (one positive and one negative) submerged in an electrolyte solution. The metal plates are usually made of lead and lead dioxide, and the electrolyte solution is typically a mixture of sulfuric acid and water.

When the battery is charged, an electrical current causes a chemical reaction to occur between the plates and the electrolyte, producing lead sulfate and water. When the battery is discharged, the reaction is reversed, and lead sulfate and water are converted back into lead and lead dioxide, releasing electrical energy in the process.

The battery also contains connectors, usually made of lead or copper, which allow the battery to be connected to the vehicle's electrical system. Some batteries may also contain safety features, such as vent caps or flame arrestors, to prevent the release of explosive gases.

What is the status of your car / motorbike battery and do you need help with battery fitting or replacement ?!🤙🏻🔧

Did you know that , what allows your car/motorbike to make the “vroom vroom “ noise ?!
- it ain’t only the exhaust pipe
It it’s actually inside the engines throttle body / carburettor

The throttle body / carburettor is a critical component of a fuel-injected engine, as it regulates the amount of air that enters the engine during operation. Here's how it works:

When you press on the accelerator pedal, it sends a signal to the engine's control module (ECM), which in turn signals the throttle body to open up. The throttle body contains a butterfly valve or plate that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine. The more you press the accelerator, the wider the valve opens, allowing more air to enter the engine. This increases the engine's power output, which translates into more speed and acceleration for your vehicle.

The throttle body also plays a crucial role in maintaining the engine's proper fuel-to-air ratio, which is essential for efficient combustion and minimizing emissions. The ECM uses various sensors to monitor the engine's performance and adjust the throttle body's opening accordingly to maintain the optimal fuel-to-air ratio.

Over time, the throttle body can become dirty or clogged with debris, which can affect its performance and cause problems such as rough idling, hesitation, and reduced power. Regular maintenance, including cleaning or replacing the throttle body as needed, can help keep your engine running smoothly and efficiently.

Interesting facts #2:

-Did you know that the worlds first ever made engined motor vehicle was actually an tricycle with fitted motor on it , designed by the legendary German engineer “ Carl Benz “ made the first ever mechanically powered vehicle in the world .

The first stationary gasoline engine developed by Carl Benz was a one-cylinder two-stroke unit which ran for the first time on New Year’s Eve 1879. Benz had so much commercial success with this engine that he was able to devote more time to his dream of creating a lightweight car powered by a gasoline engine, in which the chassis and engine formed a single unit.

The major features of the two-seater vehicle, which was completed in 1885, were the compact high-speed single-cylinder four-stroke engine installed horizontally at the rear, the tubular steel frame, the differential and three wire-spoked wheels. The engine output was 0.75 hp (0.55 kW). Details included an automatic intake slide, a controlled exhaust valve, high-voltage electrical vi****or ignition with spark plug, and water/thermo siphon evaporation cooling.

On January 29, 1886, Carl Benz applied for a patent for his “vehicle powered by a gas engine.” The patent – number 37435 – may be regarded as the birth certificate of the automobile. In July 1886 the newspapers reported on the first public outing of the three-wheeled Benz Patent Motor Car, model no. 1.

Not long ago we talked about the aerodynamics in one of the posts . And this brought me to another theory but this time we are we will discover what is the impact of the performance components duty and by what they could benefit ?!

The answer is that those components such as , huge GT wings , slick tyres , lowered to the ground chassis are making better downforce .

-Downforce is a concept in aerodynamics that refers to the force that a vehicle's wings or other aerodynamic components generate in the downward direction. It is created by the flow of air over the surfaces of the vehicle, which creates a pressure differential between the top and bottom surfaces of the wings or other components.

The downward force generated by the wings or other components helps to keep the vehicle stable at high speeds and during high-speed turns by pressing the tires more firmly against the road surface. This increased grip provides better traction, which allows the vehicle to maintain control and stability even when it is traveling at high speeds or cornering aggressively.

Downforce is an important factor in many forms of motorsport, including Formula 1, IndyCar, and sports car racing, where teams work to maximize the amount of downforce their vehicles can generate while minimizing drag, which can slow the vehicle down. Engineers and designers use computer simulations, wind tunnel testing, and other tools to optimize the design of the vehicle's wings, diffusers, and other aerodynamic components to achieve the desired level of downforce for each track and driving condition.

The most unpleasant and at the same time risky for the engines health is when your vehicle starts to get overheated/ water reaching 100* degrees 😰
This is because there isn’t enough cooling to the combustion chamber and inner walls of the block

-overheating engines can be cased from various factors from literally, just the coolant reservoir tank cap to the pricey engine head gasket or radiators ( depending on the model and the year of the vehicle)

⚠️it's important to take immediate action to prevent further damage⚠️. Here's what you should do :

🔧Turn off the engine: As soon as you notice the temperature gauge climbing into the red zone, turn off the engine. This will help prevent further damage to the engine.

🔧Open the hood: Let the engine cool down for a few minutes, then open the hood to allow heat to escape. Be careful not to touch any hot parts, as they can cause serious burns.

🔧Check the coolant level: Once the engine has cooled down, check the coolant level. If it's low, add more coolant. However, if you notice that the coolant is leaking or has become contaminated, it's best to call a tow truck and have the car inspected

🔧Wait before driving: Once you've checked everything, wait for a few minutes before starting the engine again. If the engine temperature returns to normal, you can continue driving. However, if the temperature starts to climb again, pull over and call for assistance.

-Remember, if your car is overheating frequently or consistently, it's best to have it inspected by an technician to diagnose and repair the underlying issue.

Do you have any concerns / suspicions about your engine being able to overheated or you need assistance with your car/ Motorbike ?! Let me know by following me up on here 🤙🏻🔧❤️

Here is one of the most crucial components for every type of motor vehicle for not only its performance but also for overall the safety for the passengers and everyone . And this are the tyres

Tires are a critical component of a vehicle's safety and performance on the road. Here are some reasons why tires are important:

-Traction: Tires are responsible for providing the necessary traction between the vehicle and the road surface. The tread pattern, rubber compound, and other features of the tire help to grip the road and maintain control during acceleration, braking, and cornering.

🔧 -Handling: The performance of a vehicle's handling is largely dependent on the tires. The tire's sidewalls and tread design help to maintain the vehicle's stability and balance during maneuvers.

🔧-Braking: Tires play a crucial role in the braking system of a vehicle. The tire's grip on the road surface is what allows the vehicle to come to a stop in a safe and controlled manner.

🔧-Comfort: Tires also play a role in providing a comfortable ride. Tires with a softer rubber compound can absorb more shock and provide a smoother ride.

🔧-Fuel efficiency: The design and condition of a tire can impact fuel efficiency. Tires with low rolling resistance require less energy to move, resulting in better gas mileage.

Overall, the tires of a vehicle are essential to its safety, performance, and overall driving experience. It's important to regularly inspect and maintain your tires to ensure they are in good condition and functioning properly.

⚠️ Remember that tyres have something called Thread in-between and side walls of each wheels and by the UK law of traffic act. The requirements for the tyres should be NO less then 1.6mm or 3/4 of a tyre , and if caught with bald or the walls being cut , you could face not only hefty fine plus the changes of having collision and being hurt is increased by 25% for each tyre ⚠️

Do you check your tyres before you go on a journey and how often you do checks ?

In the last post , we spoke about and learned about emission regulations and emissions fluids .
In todays post we are going to discuss about what is the exhaust system and how does it affect in terms of emission and performance of an vehicle

-An exhaust system is an essential component of a vehicle's engine that plays a vital role in removing the waste gases produced during combustion. The exhaust system consists of several parts, including the exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, muffler, resonator, and tailpipe.

-The exhaust manifold is responsible for collecting the exhaust gases from the engine's cylinders and directing them into a single pipe. The catalytic converter converts harmful pollutants in the exhaust gases into less harmful substances before they are released into the atmosphere.

-The muffler is designed to reduce the noise produced by the engine as the exhaust gases pass through the system. The resonator helps to further reduce noise and vibrations in the exhaust system. Finally, the tailpipe is the last part of the system, where the exhaust gases are expelled into the environment.

-The exhaust system's proper functioning is critical for the vehicle's performance and compliance with environmental regulations. Issues with the exhaust system can result in reduced engine efficiency, increased emissions, and noise pollution. Regular maintenance and inspections of the exhaust system are essential to prevent any potential problems and ensure the vehicle's safe operation.

How often do you maintain your exhaust and your entire exhaust system ?! Do you need any additional info Of how to maintain it well or

Many modern cars from 2016 and onwards are using Diesel engines to provide extra power and better fuel economy as well , but due to the fact that in 2019 was introduced the emissions regulations for engined motor vehicles .

- so therefore the automotive engineers establish an special liquid for the newest cars in order to keep the emissions down and be more environmental friendly 🌿 called Adblue

AdBlue is a blueish / whiteish diesel exhaust fluid used in vehicles with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to reduce harmful gases being released into the atmosphere. AdBlue is a 32,5 % solution of high-purity, synthetically manufactured urea in de-mineralized water. It is a safe-to-use fluid.

AdBlue is used as part of a car’s selective catalytic reduction, or SCR, system and is automatically injected into your car’s exhaust system where it mixes with the exhaust gases, including the NOx. The AdBlue reacts with the NOx and breaks it down into harmless oxygen and nitrogen that comes out of the exhaust pipe and disperses into the atmosphere.
AdBlue doesn’t eliminate all of your car’s NOx emissions, but it does greatly reduce them.

Does your vehicle have Adblue tank as well ?! And how often do you need to use it while refilling with fuel ? 💯

In todays topic we won’t talk much about what components and which part does this or does that and so on ..
-today we will talk about movement and gravitational theory’s and what exactly they do to in everyday motor vehicles performance .

One of the most popular forces in automotive engineering is the” Aerodynamic force “

An aerodynamic force is the force that is exerted by a gas or fluid, such as air, on an object moving through it. When an object moves through a fluid, it experiences a combination of different types of aerodynamic forces, such as lift, drag, thrust, and weight.

Lift is the force that is perpendicular to the direction of motion and is responsible for keeping an object, such as an airplane, in the air. Drag is the force that acts opposite to the direction of motion and is responsible for slowing down the object. Thrust is the force that propels the object forward, while weight is the force that acts downwards due to gravity.

The study of aerodynamics is important in designing vehicles and structures that need to move through a fluid efficiently and effectively, such as airplanes, cars, and buildings. By understanding the nature of aerodynamic forces, engineers can design these objects to minimize drag and maximize lift, resulting in greater speed and efficiency.
