CONGRATULATIONS ELLA
PASSING YOUR DRIVING TEST TODAY!

ONLY 1 DRIVER FAULT

This young lady absolutely smashed her practical driving test today! She has worked extremely hard and has developed the skills and built her confidence up to pass her test with only 1 minor driving fault!

Massive congratulations Ella and I’ll see you on the roads

Who goes first? πŸ€”πŸš—

Car 1, 2 or 3?

Have a good look before you answer…

Apparently, they couldn’t agree either. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

What order would you have them go? And more importantly β€” why? πŸ‘‡

Take care, Drive safe.

πŸš—πŸ’¨ LAUGHING GAS + DRIVING = A SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS COMBINATION.

As a Driving Instructor, I see how important good judgement, concentration and reaction times are behind the wheel.

Nitrous oxide can affect your coordination, judgement and ability to react properly β€” and when you’re driving, even a split-second mistake can change someone’s life.

❌ It’s not cool.
❌ It’s not worth the risk.
❌ Don’t put yourself, your passengers or other road users in danger.

Make better decisions. Say NO. Get home safe. πŸ›‘

Your mates might encourage you to do it β€” but a real mate won’t encourage you to drive under the influence.

πŸš— STRUGGLING WITH ROAD POSITIONING? THIS TIP CAN HELP! πŸ‘€

One thing we’ve been working on in this lesson is road positioning. My pupil was finding herself driving more to one side of the lane, so we worked on a simple reference point:

πŸ‘‰ Use your left knee as a guide to help line yourself up with the middle of your lane β€” keeping a safe and balanced position between the kerb and the centre line.

πŸͺž Don’t forget your mirrors!
Your mirrors give you valuable information about how close you are to the kerb, centre line and other vehicles. They help you confirm whether your positioning is where it needs to be.

πŸ‘€ Looking further ahead is also really important.
The further ahead you look, the more time you have to recognise bends, parked cars, oncoming traffic and changes in the road. This gives you time to make small, smooth adjustments to your position rather than reacting at the last second.

Look ahead β†’ plan early β†’ reposition smoothly. πŸ’ͺπŸš—

It’s all about developing those good habits and becoming more confident and consistent behind the wheel. πŸ™Œ

🚨 THIS IS WHY LOOKING AHEAD IS SO IMPORTANT! πŸ‘€

One thing we’ve been working on in this lesson is planning ahead on narrow roads and improving mirror use.

My pupil previously had a habit of looking down towards the road immediately in front of the car rather than looking further ahead.

Watch what happens as we approach the bend… πŸ‘€

By looking ahead, we can spot the oncoming car early and recognise that they are moving over to give us enough room to pass.

This is what good planning is all about! πŸš—

On narrow roads, ask yourself:

πŸ‘‰ What can I see ahead?
πŸ‘‰ Is there an oncoming vehicle?
πŸ‘‰ Is there somewhere I can pull in?
πŸ‘‰ Who has the easier option to give way?
πŸ‘‰ Do I need to slow down or stop?

The earlier you see it, the more time you have to deal with it. πŸ’―

Would you have spotted the oncoming car early enough? πŸ‘€πŸ‘‡

🚍 Holding back = planning ahead! πŸ‘€

On a really tight, narrow road behind a bus, there’s no need to rush forward. Holding back gives you better visibility so you can spot spaces to pull into, see what’s coming towards you and decide whether you need to wait further back if there isn’t a suitable space available.

In this lesson, we’re working on:

πŸ”Ή Planning ahead – looking as far up the road as possible
πŸ”Ή Reading the road – identifying potential spaces before you reach them
πŸ”Ή Making safe decisions – knowing when to hold back and when to proceed
πŸ”Ή Mirror checks – improving mirror use before changing direction or moving around parked cars, especially in case another road user is overtaking
πŸ”Ή Building anticipation and confidence – giving yourself more time to react rather than making decisions at the last second

Good driving isn’t just about controlling the car β€” it’s about seeing, planning and making the right decision early. πŸš—πŸ’¨
