North Lindum Hawks U18s 3–3 Birchwood Colts U18s
Birchwood Colts U18s took to the pitch against North Lindum Hawks and produced a performance with so many positives to take away.
We started the game extremely strongly, dominating possession and playing the majority of the football in the opposition half. Despite our dominance, NLH managed to break through and take a 1–0 lead.
But the response was almost immediate! 💪
A brilliant corner delivered by Bobby was met by Macauley, who powered his header into the back of the net!
⚽ 1–1 – GAME ON!
We continued to move the ball brilliantly and keep possession. A clever flick-on from Praise found Frank, who made no mistake and put us ahead!
⚽ 2–1 BIRCHWOOD!
The football kept flowing. Rinalds won the ball superbly inside our own half before driving forward and playing a beautiful through ball into the path of Praise, who finished brilliantly!
⚽ 3–1 BIRCHWOOD! 🔥
After half-time, NLH came out strongly and put us under real pressure for around 15 minutes. We showed great resilience, worked for each other and dealt with a difficult spell extremely well.
NLH eventually pulled one back through a deflected effort that left our keeper with little chance.
3–2.
Then came a heartbreaking finish. With virtually the last kick of the game, NLH found an equaliser to make it 3–3 at full-time.
Of course, we wanted all three points, especially after leading 3–1, but there are so many positives to take from this performance.
We showed that we can dominate matches, keep possession, play some fantastic football and create chances as a team. The togetherness and determination were there throughout.
⭐️ MAN OF THE MATCH – DAVID ⭐️
A flawless performance at centre-back. Composed, strong and dependable throughout. 👏👏
It’s a point collected away from home. It might not be the three we wanted, but we take it, learn from it and keep moving forward.
Heads up. Proud of the performance. We march on together as a team. 🟡⚫️
