π DRIVING TEST SWAPS β IMPORTANT CHANGES FROM 12 MAY 2026 π
Just a little update for all learner drivers regarding driving test swaps π
From **12 May 2026**, instructors will no longer be allowed to swap driving tests on behalf of pupils. Any swaps will now have to be done directly between learner drivers themselves through the DVSA.
Unfortunately, while most instructors are honest, a small minority have abused the system by charging extra for booking and swapping tests π so DVSA have changed the rules.
Before arranging a swap, make sure:
β
Youβre genuinely ready for the earlier test date
β
Iβm available for that date, time, and test centre
β
Both tests are for the same type of test
β
Both test centres meet DVSAβs location rules
β Weekend tests cannot be swapped with weekday tests
π‘ A good tip is to use your instructorβs ADI number when checking dates on the DVSA booking system. Many of us block out dates weβre unavailable to help avoid clashes with holidays, time off, or other driving tests.
π Swaps can only be completed by calling DVSA directly.
Both learners will need:
β’ Booking reference numbers
β’ Driving licence details
β’ To be available on the phone at the same time
β οΈ Never share sensitive personal information directly with strangers online.
π¬ The good newsβ¦
Many instructors (myself included) are part of driving test swap WhatsApp groups, so although I canβt physically do the swap for you anymore, I can still help point you towards possible swaps π
π We help you find a suitable matchβ¦ then you take it from there with DVSA.
If youβre looking for a swap, just send me a message and Iβll try to help where I can π
Letβs keep things fair and hopefully get you on the road sooner π
