🚐 DRIVING TO SPAIN THIS WINTER?

Thinking of escaping the UK winter and heading south in your motorhome? There’s more than one way to get there! Here are 6 popular route options to consider:

⛴️ 1. Plymouth → Santander
A great option if you want to avoid a long drive through France. The ferry takes you directly to northern Spain, leaving you fresh for the journey south.

⛴️ 2. Portsmouth → Bilbao
Another Bay of Biscay crossing, taking you straight into northern Spain. Ideal for motorhomers wanting to minimise driving through France.

🚐 3. Calais → Tours → Bordeaux → Irun
A straightforward route through western France, generally following major roads. A good choice if you want a relatively direct journey towards northern Spain.

💰 4. Calais → Bordeaux → Irun
The western route can offer opportunities to reduce costs by choosing your roads carefully and avoiding some of France’s expensive toll sections.

🏔️ 5. Calais → Paris → Clermont-Ferrand → Barcelona
A longer inland route with plenty of interesting places to stop along the way. Great if the journey itself is part of the adventure.

🌄 6. Calais → Zaragoza → Barcelona
An alternative eastern route through France and into Spain, giving you the chance to explore different cities and landscapes before reaching the Mediterranean.

Which route would you take?

Save this post for your winter trip and share it with someone planning a Spanish motorhome adventure!
