We are in the fortunate, but also unfortunate position of having a very busy spring and summer period, with a huge amount of orders.

This has meant some of the lead times for our parts have slipped to unacceptable lengths. We have some customers waiting very patiently for their parts.

To combat this we have decided to put most of our products on the website out of stock for up to two weeks while we catch up with existing orders.

The good news is all outstanding sump baffle orders, water pump inlet and fuel rail orders are leaving this morning. We hope to have all outstanding MX5 supercharger kits orders fulfilled by early next week, with Bandit turbo kits following shortly afterwards.

The greatly improved cornering, braking, and acceleration that people are achieving these days with their Cosworth YB-engined cars means that the forces acting on the oil in the sump are likely to exceed the limits that the standard sump was designed for.

Under cornering, braking, or acceleration, the oil in the sump moves away from the bottom of the sump where the pick-up pipe is located, and instead climbs up the sides of the sump and the block. The result is that the oil pump — and therefore the engine — becomes starved of oil. Oil starvation, even for only a matter of milliseconds, can lead to catastrophic failure of engine components such as the main and big-end bearings. If you are particularly unlucky, it could destroy your entire engine beyond repair.

The sloshing oil is also likely to cover crankcase breather ports and be forced into your breather system, or out onto the track, where it becomes a hazard to other drivers.

G19 oil control sump baffles provide excellent insurance against both of these scenarios and offer ideal protection for the new engine you have just invested time and money in. They are CAD-designed, CNC-cut, and TIG-welded to create a part that fits perfectly, every time.
