That's it for another very busy week. I am off now for a week, been told I have to have a holiday 🙈 So you lot keep well. G

Evening folks. Busy old day, sales and customer/visitor wise, so not much time for anything else. BUT I wanted to just run something past you all.
As the number of our followers on here grows and with close to 500,000 hits each month, its obvious the dirty scammers will start to target you. I do try to w**d out people that just don't look/sound right, but it would be a full time job checking everyone out thoroughly.
With this in mind, where I have no problem with people commenting that they have a similar bike for sale that we have, from that point onwards please only private message your interest in it "directly" to them. I will delete any other further communication otherwise.
This way we have absolutely nothing to do with any future transaction and you, as adults ( by physical age rather than mental 😉), are old enough and ugly enough to do all the necessary checks before handing over your hard earned.
Just be very carefull as these thieving bastards are bloody good at what they do. G 😘

Another of our "cheaper and cheerfull" clearance bikes is this rather good looking Yamaha XS250. Again all up and running, with a sweet motor etc. Electrics all work but the high low switch is missing its button and the electric start switch k**b, while working, keeps making a break for freedom ( hence the tape round it in the pictures so we don't loose it). It has what looks like newish tyres, chain and sprockets etc so it's previous owner that imported it from France obviously spent some money on it. Cosmetics are pretty good, just some chips on tanks paint etc, plus one seat strip is missing. While no they are not in their 2 stroke siblings level of demand, they are now coming up in value as not everyone had an RD or wants to spend 4 or 5 grand. As is its £1195 no offers. I can sort out the switch gear but then you will be at £1395. G

Anyone on here interested in our Yamaha FZR1000 RU Exup before I put it out on the market? With so many bikes lined up waiting for our attention I have decided not to go the full monty on some of them and just move them on at a reduced price. This exup had been stood for many years so needed the obligatory carb jobbie. Past that and a new battery, it was pretty much all there. Now up on the button, running and riding, but sold "as is" at 1995 no offers. These RU Exups are being offered currently on flea Bay at between 2895 and 5395 so this is as cheap as your likely to find . G

Had a couple of people requesting a walk round video of our GS850 cold starting and running. Had one offer that was a knats to low and no response from the other, yet. Figured would be if interest to you lot on here, even if your not actually after a cheap classic shafty at the mo. G
Ps. Price is £1895 as a running, riding project.

Without wanting to state the obvious, but damn that was nasty today, definitely the worse day we have had temp and humidity wise!! But me and the Womble soldiered on like the heroes we are 😉 Or just plain dumb! I can hear the violins from here 😂😂.
Sweated me nutz off getting the Exup carbs back on and that's now up running and moving under its own power for the first time in many years. As per usual excuse the poor sounding engine in the video, as you know bloody phones mics make every thing sound like a bag of nails!

Going to be offering the GS850G we have been working on more or less as you see it. Carbs are done, new battery and it now starts on the button and runs very nicely. Engine is quiet, gearbox etc are smooth, so mechanically its pretty well there and with good tyres. Cosmetics do let it down. Tank while not leaking and very clean inside has suffered, mostly on the front right lower corner where the full fairing it had, liner had been rubbing, plus some rust evident under the paint by the badges. Seat trim is nasty but the cover is newish. The rest is really not bad and the original exhausts are far too good to of not been replaced at some point ( would be excellent if you wanted original pipes for a resto project). I do have the other side panel, just waiting on replacement fixing rubbers for it.
With very little work you could just get on it and use as is, or would make an excellent starting point if you wanted to improve.
Have got to sit down tomorrow and work out an exact price but it will be below 2k. G

This very pretty, very lightly customised Honda CB550K arrived with us today, needing little more than a good clean by our secret weapon the "Workshop Womble". Photographed as arrived so you can see how nice it is before he cleans it. G
Ps. I have the original speedo showing much lower mileage, but it's the 80mph USA version, hence why changed.

Spent all morning today with a sales rep, demo-ing a load of products all designed "in house". A lot for military and aviation use, but centering round rust removal. Now we all know that problem, open up the tank on your 'i will do that some day" or barn find project to find its ....well not very pretty in there! We deal with it daily and have tried just about everything, with varying levels of success. Now he has guaranteed it will work, to the point that he left us enough product to make 30 liters, so more than enough to fill a tank, which we have done. Will bring you the results when known tomorrow. I have told the rep, using mainly Anglo Saxon words, that if it doesn't, don't bother coming back, but he has already booked a return visit, even took the worse tank we had with him to treat himself and bring it back to show what can be accomplished. So you never know, it might just work as described so would be a god send.
Did get a chance to strip our CB1000 carbs, and actually not as bad as expected for once. Yes every rubber o-ring and seal had gone rock hard, but its lucky it had been left standing so long it had old pre ethanol fuel in it, so no major damage just some dirt and varnish residue in the bottom of the reservoirs. Nowt a good clean will not fix. G
