WARNING A STORY OF ABUSE - JUSTICE FOR BASIL !!!
- I allowed another local company to use 'Basil' our Foxy 3.5t Horsebox. in 2021/2022. Initially their vehicle was off the road, they then carried on using Basil as a back-up truck. Basil was insured on my insurance as a self-drive hire, this was made very clear at the time. I was asked if he could be added to their insurance to allow the other partner to drive. Yes I replied. Did I check it was done? No! I trusted them. I'm just thankful to the best of my knowledge, no horse was ever injured during transportation with Basil. Not only was Basil not insured by this company, various people were driving him unbeknownst to me. I finally found out every man & his dog had driven him. Basil was used when the company in question had more than one set of Horses at an event. On the way home the driver of their vehicle, challenged the driver in my little Basil to a race home !! He was battered & bruised when I got him back, and to completely push me over the edge, I was not paid for over 5 months, I had countless promises of payment but nothing ever arrived. I finally had to go through the legal route, and still nearly 2 years later, not a penny has been sent to me !! I let them use him at £50 for a full day & £30 half day. When I started to go through the tracking history, not only did I find there were loads of infringements for speeding, harsh braking etc etc.... I found out he was regularly on the road for 12 plus hours, some instances 16 hours, all for £50 Not a bad deal was it !! I received 3 fines for not paying Tyne Tunnel fees all at £120 each. All in all It has cost me over £1800 which I'm still waiting for. When asked why I wasn't receiving any payment,I was told they never made any money from using Basil !!! I'd laugh if i wasn't so angry at how I've been taken for a ride. I paid £42,000 for Basil and he was just treated like a piece of s**t. I wanted to just sell him and never look at a horsebox again. I've now passed the debt to a recovery company, so Mr Bailiff will be coming to an address near you very soon. AS FOR BASIL ? I've decided to keep him and hire him out. I've had some lovely customers, yes I've had a bad experience from somebody I helped when they needed it. I'm not naming them, but you know who you are !! I'm just looking forward to seeing the Bailiffs retrieve my money, tick tick tick, the interest is growing daily !!
