We've just got back from a brilliant day at the St Michael's Hospice - Hereford classic car show! Ethelbert performed beautifully and we saw some fantastic cars... And got a special mention from judge Richard Hammond (mother was too slow with the camera...)

A30 shenanigans

Hello, Martin here!

Henry didn't have time to record his usual introduction - sorry!

"Mabel" is a 1955 Austin A30 that I bought for £25 back in 1971. She spent two years being cruelly abused as a "banger", tearing around fields.

She was laid up with a broken spring and worn-out clutch, but was revived for a year in 1977, when I used her as daily transport at university.

She then spent some 30 years in various barns, before emerging again in around 2009, when she was partly restored and put back on the road.

By 2015, rust that hadn't been adequately dealt with became a problem and she was again withdrawn from service. For quite some time, Henry has had his eyes on her as his next project, so over to him...........

I have now moved onto a slightly different project and have been working on getting it out of the garage and up and running.

We're home again from a great day at Curborough for the A7s Back to the Track day.

Brilliant time at Curborough Sprint course today with Ethelbert. Thanks so much to everyone involved in organising the day and letting me drive some very exciting cars, we had the best time!
