A scratch or dent might look purely cosmetic, but depending on where it is and how the vehicle was damaged, there can sometimes be more going on beneath the surface.

Equally, some damage that looks dramatic can be repaired much more straightforwardly than you might expect.

The important thing is not to guess.

Your first thought probably isn't, "I wonder what the body repair process is?"

It's more likely:

"What do I do now?"

First, make sure everyone involved is safe.

Then, once the immediate situation is dealt with, take photographs of the vehicles and the damage, record the relevant details and contact your insurer where appropriate.

And when it comes to getting the vehicle repaired, don't be afraid to ask questions.

Originally finished in blue, we’ve given it a complete colour change to this bright orange, before it was converted into a bespoke mobile bar for a drinks company.

From the initial strip-down and paintwork through to the finished vehicle, it’s been a proper project — and we think the end result looks the business.

Auto Body Rescue is certified by BSI for Vehicle Damage Repair to BS 10125:2022.

So what does that actually mean?

BS 10125 is a recognised standard for vehicle damage repair, covering the processes, equipment, competence and controls involved in carrying out repairs.

It's one thing for a business to tell you that it takes quality seriously.

It's another thing to work to a recognised industry standard.

Our BSI certificate is KM 825304.

For us, it's about giving customers another reason to have confidence in the people working on their vehicle.

Because when your car is being repaired, "good enough" shouldn't be the target.

Quality should be.

Two cars can have dents that look almost identical at first glance, but the repair required can be completely different.

Things such as the depth of the dent, the position on the panel, whether the paint has been damaged and whether the panel has stretched can all affect how it should be repaired.

That's why a quick online quote based on the word "dent" isn't always enough.

A proper assessment matters.
