It’s now been 6 months since our 924 Carrera GT made the trip from our UK base over to Hungary to begin its transformation, with not a single bolt being left untouched.

Over the last 6 months a lot has happened with drive train being completely taken out to begin its nut and bolt rebuild.

The body has undergone much work to make sure it’s completely rust free, with new metal in parts of the firewall, battery tray and floor pan.

After days spent refitting panels together to make sure everything aligned absolutely perfectly, the car is now undergoing a full respray throughout, outside, inside, underneath.

We’re very excited at the progress, but still a long way to go, these things take time, but look forward to it coming back.

First step done with our Carrera GT restoration.
The interior is out, the aftermarket AC was a bit of a pain to remove. The floor sound absorber was soaking wet. Very likely we will need to replace the interior wiring harness, a few cables and connectors are melted near the fusebox, but so far no big surprises. We are waiting for the UK paperwork now, as soon as it is sorted, she will be transported to our Hungarian workshop to get everything else out, to sort out the bodywork and we are ready for the paintwork. Hopefully, I can post about the next step soon.
