Working with a local garage last week to diagnose a van with poor running but no fault codes. Using the Picoscope this relative compression test revealed internal engine wear which was then narrowed down further using a pulse sensor.

The garage can now feedback to the customer that a bottom end rebuild is required. Whilst not great news for the customer, the quick diagnosis and no stripping down of parts provided a cost effective solution to getting them an answer.

Always happy to help out fellow mechanics 🤝 if you require a diagnosis of a fault, please get in touch. WhatsApp is the best method for a quick response on 07500 933403

Happy New Year All!

Although we’re a little late on the posting, business as usual for us over the festive period, including a roadside clutch replacement on this Hyundai I10.

The driver was in Newquay heading to their NYE party when the clutch failed, causing complete loss of drive. Luckily as a mobile mechanic there’s no recovery as we can fix the problem on location (most of the time).

So if you’re in need of car repair or maintenance, drop us a message for a free quote on 07500933403.

VW Tiguan in for repair recently 🚙🔧

The alternator belt tensioner failed after the bolt holding it in place snapped off inside the unit. With the belt left loose, this caused the car to stop charging the battery as well as other issues 😬

Luckily there was no need to drill out the broken bolt; as it screws into the tensioner and not the block, we fitted a new tensioner and bolt which meant we could get it back together and running perfectly again 👍💨

👉 Tip for owners: if you hear squeaking, rattling, or notice the battery light flickering, get your belt and tensioner checked — it could save you a breakdown!

🛠️ Late-night surgery on a Ford Kuga!
This one came in chuffing away from cylinders 1 & 2. On inspection, I found the injectors had been replaced before — and the clamp on number 1 was snapped.

Cleaned out the carbon, cut a fresh seat, fitted a new washer, and got the injector back in properly. Running sweet again! 🚗💨
