Welcome back to Episode 3 of Parm’s Mercedes W124 restoration and upgrade series!

In this episode, we’re turning our attention to the audio system to find out just how good (or bad!) the original speakers sound after more than 30 years.

Before making any changes, Parm takes us through the factory audio setup and carries out a listening test to establish exactly what we’re starting with.

It’s then time to upgrade the speakers and give this classic Mercedes a much-needed improvement in sound quality.

Every car is better on air 🛠️

This W108 recently left our workshop after we installed Air Lift Performance ALP4 Management + Air Suspension Struts with a custom controller mount located just under the dash!

Alongside this, we gave it a couple audio refreshments including a Pioneer Car UK MVH-S520DAB Bluetooth single din stereo and Hertz Audio DBA 201F Underseat subwoofer!

This Ferrari Portofino recently left our workshop after we gave it a high end Helix full audio install!

We installed - Ci7 8” Woofers in custom adapters, Ci7 1” Tweeters, Ci3 4” Coaxial Speakers in the rear and controlling these is a V8 Ultimate DSP Amplifier!

This has completely transformed the way this car sounds quality wise but also volume wise making having the roof down even more enjoyable!
