Manual driving lessons
🚗 2 hours — £70

Automatic driving lessons
🚙 90 minutes — £65

Student-rate appointments are available at selected 08:00 and 10:30 weekday slots.

Learn at your own pace with structured, relaxed driving lessons covering Hamilton, Motherwell, East Kilbride and surrounding Lanarkshire areas.

Valid student ID required. Spaces are subject to availability.

Quick update, everyone!

I'm officially rebranding my page from Csaba Ortutay - ADI to CO Driver Training to better reflect my local driving school!

Just to clear things up for Meta's review team, I'm not going anywhere. It's still me, same instructor, teaching every lesson and helping you become a safe & confident driver across Lanarkshire and Greater Glasgow.

Update: I was planning to change the page name, but now Meta's Ai chatbot changed it without any consent or question and now I have to wait 60 days before I can try again.

Congratulations to Meda who passed her driving test with 0 driver faults recorded!

A slightly delayed one, but definitely worth posting. 🎉

Another successful driving test from early September and another licence earned with CO Driver Training.

A lot of work went into getting test-ready, so it was great to see it all come together on the day.

Manual lessons are currently available across Hamilton, Motherwell and East Kilbride, with automatic lessons coming very soon.

A driving instructor never really stops being a student.

Usually I’m sitting in the passenger seat helping somebody develop their driving. On this occasion, the roles were a little different.

Spending a day on track was a good reminder that, however experienced you become, there is always something else to learn.

I was lucky enough to have a racing champion jump into the instructor’s seat for part of the day, which was a useful reminder of what it feels like to be the learner again — listening, processing information, trying something, getting feedback and putting it into practice.

Different environment, different demands, but the same fundamentals still matter: observation, planning, control, judgement, smoothness and adapting to what is happening around you.

Later, the roles changed again when I moved into the passenger seat for a few laps in the Ariel.
That part was less about learning and more about questioning several of my life choices. 😂

Continuing to learn, accepting feedback and developing your own driving is a big part of why I enjoy teaching in the first place.

And occasionally, learning gets to be a bit more exciting than CPD paperwork.

I’m badly behind with the pass posts, which is actually quite a nice problem to have 😂

Starting with Kim, who passed the driving test at Hamilton Test Centre on 28th August. 👏🚗

Huge congratulations — a well-earned result!

This was the first of four recent passes from the end of August and September, so as those pupils move on to driving independently, I’ve got a few spaces gradually appearing in the diary.

A small observation from today.

After dropping my car at the mechanics, I was waiting at this pedestrian crossing. Around 15 cars passed before one driver slowed down and let me cross.

It is a good reminder that pedestrian crossings are not just paint on the road. They are there because someone on foot may be waiting, may be vulnerable, and may need drivers to notice early enough to act safely.

As drivers, we should be scanning well ahead, checking both sides of the crossing, and preparing to slow down if someone is waiting to cross. Drivers MUST give way to pedestrians at a zebra crossing.

For learners, this is exactly why observation and anticipation matter. Good driving is not only about controlling the car — it is about reading the road and protecting people around you.
