Insurance claim? Not this time. ⛔️

This Range Rover Velar came to us with some nasty splits in the front bumper – the kind of damage that can quickly turn into an expensive repair when you start pricing brand new parts.

We knew straight away that replacing the bumper brand new would be pricey… but instead of pushing the customer towards an insurance claim, we did what we always do – looked for the smartest solution 👌

✅ Sourced a second-hand bumper at a fraction of the cost
✅ Fully refurbished it to as-good-as-new condition
✅ Replaced the required bumper brackets
✅ Colour matched and finished to our usual high standard

The end result? The Velar looking its absolute best again – without the customer taking a hit on their insurance premiums 💷

This 3 stage pearl Tesla ⚡️came in with some heavy scuffs to the front bumper corner.

Pearl finishes always need that bit of extra care, so we carried out a controlled smart repair, keeping the work local to the damaged area while making sure the colour and blend sat right with the rest of the bumper.

A bit of time and attention in this one, but all sorted and looking how it should again. ✨

‼️Another one saved from the Insurance trap‼️ 👇

This Renault Captur came in with a small scrape to the bumper corner and scuffed arch trim. We repainted the damaged area and re-textured the trim to match factory finish – and had it all completed in less than 24 hours.

Although our customer wasn’t at fault, going through insurance would have meant the at-fault party paying an excess higher than the cost of the repair, plus the risk of a premium increase at renewal. Instead, they chose to settle it directly, saving money for both sides and keeping a claim off everyone’s policy.

The result:
✅Repair cost cheaper than the at-fault excess
✅No insurance claim recorded for either party
✅No future premium hikes
✅Back on the road the next day

If you’ve had a minor bump or scrape, it’s always worth getting a quote before involving insurers – the quicker, simpler option can often save a lot of cash and hassle.

🚙 MG ZS in this week after a disagreement with a fence post 👊🌳
The rear bumper corner was cracked and scuffed, and the impact had taken out the rear light too.

We repaired the damaged section of the bumper and refinished it to match perfectly. The customer ordered a replacement rear light themselves – we just helped point them in the right direction and got everything fitted up once it arrived 👍

Back to looking as it should with no trace of the damage.

A returning customer back with us at DRK Paint 🔥
This high-spec Defender came in for some serious upgrades.

We painted and fitted wider arches to allow for larger wheels and tyres, giving it a much more aggressive stance.
While it was with us, we also colour coded the wind deflectors and painted a brand-new rear door to keep everything flowing perfectly.

🚘🚘 Golf GTD front bumper refresh 🔧🎨

This Golf GTD came in with a tired, flaky front bumper — a very common issue on red paintwork where the colour and lacquer start to fail over time.

No shortcuts taken on this one. The bumper was removed from the car, stripped back to bare, and all failed paint fully removed. It was then properly repaired, primed, and refinished to ensure a long-lasting, factory-quality finish.

Done the right way, not the quick way ✅

🚘 BMW X1 – Mineral Grey Mirror Repair

This BMW X1 came in after the customer unfortunately knocked the mirror clean off. The impact damaged both the mirror cap and the mirror glass.

To help avoid increasing next year’s insurance premium, we sourced the customer a second-hand mirror, repainted the cap in Mineral Grey, and refitted everything back to factory standard.

✅ Colour-matched mirror cap
✅ Replacement mirror glass
✅ All repaired for less than the insurance excess
✅ No hike in insurance premium
✅ Safe and ready for the Christmas period 🎄
