Found the CRT workboat across the canal today so had to stop and re secure its mooring ropes !

Photos from Saturday evening at BHM 20/07/24, after 24h of canal breach at bridge 38. most Bows sat in the silt or on the bottom but enough water for Sterns to be afloat. Marina crew had been out checking boats and lines. Glad CRT got the dams installed last night, hopefully levels will rise soon.

Where Aston Lady got her name from, Aston-on-Thames (Henley-on-Thames),
Previous owner to me was Andy Long, he had her at Penton Hook Marina when we bought her, he was in the Chertsey Windsor area, with Aston Lady regularly sailing that area and far afield on the Thames. He said Aston Lady had always been on the Thames as far as he knew, supposedly named after the area Aston-on-Thames (Henley-on-Thames).

Aston is a small village located on the outskirts of Henley very close to the River Thames . The local pub is called The Flower Pot.

New long bench cushions and scatter cushions ready for the season.
Made with the bottom full depth and thicker so can be used as a bed.
Cover section bespoke made to stop the feet marks getting in and out the boat.

What to do on a rainy day when you can’t polish the boat, draw a picture of her of course!
Lots of other jobs done this last month or so, more to do.. and nice to see a new Freeman friend out on the cut!
Bilge needs a clean I know, it’s on the list 😂
