We have decided our chosen charity this year is Farms for City Children.

They take 36 kids a year from deprived inner city schools to work and live on a farm for a week. Opening their eyes to a whole different world.

And today we had a visit from a VW Camper Club and raised £330! By coincidence this sponsors one child for the experience in the early Autumn.

Several more booked, so hopefully many more children sponsored.

WANTED inexpensive old MOT four post lift or similar.

As you may remember our workshop burnt down last June taking every tool with it. We have now reached the rebuild stage - hallelujah! Can't afford a new ramp, but if you have or know of a suitable ramp in good working condition please let us know. We don't have transport so would need it delivered and set up, so any recommendations for that too. I know don't ask much!!!

We chose The Mad Hatters Tea Party children's charity based in Solihull for our charity fund raising this year.

Such a great choice, raising money for a minibus to enable wheelchair bound kids to get out and about. And they achieved their goal with the help of £2855 we raised. Our best ever total!

So onwards and upwards for 2026. Already have a couple of car club visits booked, so any recommendations for small children's charities, preferably based in the Midlands?

There are times when you wonder how you deserve what you get. Often that is good, with lovely clients and people. However sometimes it's damn infuriating.

This is our workshop after a fire broke out in a friend's caravan parked beside it. We saw the smoke starting within minutes, smashed a window and thought we had put it out. But it reignited and despite the brilliant Fire Service arriving very swiftly, those 30 foot flames blew onto the roof of our building. It was destroyed within around 30 minutes taking our newly refurbished American RV with it. Plus of course all our tools and the car key safe!

A nightmare. Our insurers have been very swift off the mark clearing some of the mess but have to await asbestos testing. Plus building considered unsafe to enter.

Sometimes something is just not meant to be. We were asked to take the Toyota 2000GT to a big Toyota Show at Kelly's in Ireland.

They were kindly going to transport her and we would follow in the Landcruiser. But the Landcruiser had other ideas, what should have been a quick fix on slightly loose steering, turned into a sheered bolt.

So we decided we would drive the 2000GT instead. Set off for the ferry, she began to run really rough, then broke down. 😓. Used her not long ago and she was running beautifully!

Clearly the Toyota's don't want to leave GB!

This year we have picked the Mad Hatter's Tea Party - a Midlands charity - to make a child smile 😊

With all this dire weather, if you want your cherished classic or even modern weekend car, tucked up in a professional quality dehumidified garage, we do have a few spaces available in the north Cotswolds.

Quite happy for this to be winter only storage, so don't think we expect it to be long term - equally happy to have it here forever though! 😊😊
