Zeelo, London Hire and Ocado Group have launched what is believed to be the UK's first fully electric employee commuter service.

Over the past few weeks we have been busy fitting sealed bulkheads to our PTS fleet. Thank you to Blue Light Services for their outstanding workmanship and speed of which they worked. We have supplied and fitted over 100 Bulkheads and so our customers and their staff working in the NHS are now fully protected whilst in transit.

Corona Virus Update

Dear Customer,

Further to the latest government advice concerning Corona Virus I wanted to update you regarding the position from us here at London Hire.

Essentially as we provide services to areas of business which continue to operate such as the NHS and local goverment and so it is business as usual, however we have introduced certain key measures to protect our staff and our customers.

We have introduced a Rota for all our remaining office staff so that they will be working shifts at our office’s to help reduce the social contact between work colleges. Social distancing and regular hand wash routines are being observed and restricted access to our sites from outside visitors has been enforced.

A number of our staff are working fully from home and they can continue to be contacted by email or phone in the usual manner.

In addition to this we are operating a quarantine period for all vehicles that require movements or maintence to protect our staff and we ask that you cooperate with us to ensure that policy this is strictly observed.

• Any vehicle that requires: inspections/MOT etc. will require a 48hr quarantine period before a LH engineer undertakes any work on the vehicle.
• Customers will be asked to place a A4 notice in the window with the last date/time is was driven.
• The same process will be applied for off hired vehicles.

London Hire are very excited to introduce you to our first Ultra Light Electric Minibus. '

'ULEM' is available as a 9 - 14 seat Wheelchair accessible or standard Minibus.
The vehicle was exhibited at this years CV show in Birmingham as was very well received.
With a range of over 100 miles per charge and a quick charge facility of just an hour the vehicle is suitable for most of our inner city clients.

With the ever increasing problem of inner city pollution and focus on Zero Emission vehicles we have spent the past couple of years reviewing products in the UK, mainland Europe and beyond.

Weight and range issues were creating a real challenge until we caught up with Peter Johnson, a longstanding colleague in the sector of LDV Harris Group.

Peter and LDV Harris Group were able to address the challenges we encountered during our research of the available products. We have been in active discussion with the supply chain relating to the conversion since we started this process. We are very pleased to say that they have developed components, many of which are new and patented, that are both lightweight and robust that we consider to be ‘best in class’. Collectively we have worked together to deliver a lightweight, durable product with an estimated lifespan of 10 years plus which we have agreed to work on together exclusively for the next two years.

With a first rate conversion by GM Coachworks, initial enthusiasm from our customers suggests that we really have developed a solution for their inner city needs.

The stand out features are the 100 mile+ range as tested by our own team on real life journeys, fast and rapid charge facilities which suit the needs of most of the fleet managers we have spoken to.
This coupled together with the annual fuel saving, typical electricity cost of £1800.00 per annum, based on 10’000mpa.

Stop / Start journeys with no DPF filter clogging up, reducing down time whilst being significantly more environmentally friendly and cutting the negative impact we are having on this wonderful planet we call home!
