🔧 SCANIA R580 V8 | COMPLETE ENGINE REBUILD 🔧

Last week we took on a slightly bigger job than your average roadside repair…

This Scania R580 V8 came to us pressurising the cooling system and losing coolant. After investigation, the fault was traced to a failed liner seal, meaning it was time to get properly stuck into the V8.

The engine was stripped right down, including:

🔹 All 8 cylinder heads removed
🔹 Injectors, manifolds and associated components removed
🔹 Pistons and liners removed
🔹 Full clean and preparation
🔹 New liners and seals installed
🔹 New pistons fitted to the conrods
🔹 Engine completely rebuilt
🔹 Fresh oil, filters and coolant
🔹 Fully tested and checked after completion

A serious amount of work, but the end result was exactly what we wanted. The R580 is back together, running perfectly and back out working at 100%. 💪🚛

We filmed the rebuild along the way too. There’s a 4-part series over on our TikTok showing the process from stripping the V8 down to getting it fired back up again. 🎥
