❤️‍🔥 AC Wizard is going home! ❤️‍🔥

Almost a year on from the fire that destroyed our garage, tools, equipment and workspace, we are absolutely over the moon to share some very special news.

The units have been rebuilt, the paperwork has been signed, and AC Wizard is officially moving back home.

The last year has been incredibly hard. George has had to rebuild from almost nothing and return to mobile work after working so hard to get AC Wizard into its own unit in the first place. But thanks to the kindness and generosity of family, friends, customers, neighbours and even complete strangers, AC Wizard survived.

We said from the beginning that we wanted to come back “like a phoenix from the ashes” — and that phrase has stuck ever since. The phoenix now proudly sits on the AC Wizard van, and now it feels more meaningful than ever.

We want to be clear: you made this happen.

Every donation, share, message, offer of help and word of support helped keep us going when things felt impossible.

Now that we are moving back into the garage, we still need support to finish getting everything ready and properly back up and running. So we have posted a new update on our GoFundMe as a soft relaunch for this next stage of the rebuild. If you can donate it would mean the world to us!

Please only donate if you can. We know times are hard, and we would never want anyone to feel pressured. If you can’t donate, sharing the page with your friends and family would still mean the world to us.

We won’t have everything perfect straight away, but we are determined to hold a symbolic grand reopening on the anniversary of the fire, 09/07/26

We are delighted to announce our new home is finally available. From 01/06/26, we will be accepting appointment only bookings at Factory Road Cowdenbeath. Sorry, no walk ins or drive ins are available at this time. This is mainly to manage traffic on what is a fairly busy and narrow street, with limited parking availability; also to satisfy insurance requirements. As we are now in a heatwave, AC Wizard is extremely busy and the phone is burning a hole in my skull. The best time to call is between 9am and 10am. This is when you are most likely to get an answer. Outside of this, we will most likely be busy and may not get to the phone in time. I cannot stress enough that I would love to be able to answer every single call immediately and reply to every message as quickly as you want me to, but it just isn’t possible. I run this single handed and this is peak demand season. I know it’s hot and I’ll do what I can to accommodate as many as possible. Take care and hope to see you soon.

This leaking AC condenser actually passed an automated machine vacuum test and was recharged before the car was brought to me a week later because the AC stopped working. I see the same thing again and again.

This is evidence that there is a leak in the air conditioning system, but it doesn’t tell me where the leak is. Someone guessed that it was the condenser after recharging it — twice. Without testing it first. I will never recharge an empty system without doing a high pressure nitrogen test first.
