Who thought it was a good idea to have TWO tests today, just three days after I got back from holiday…? 😬🥴

Oh yes… that would be me! 🤣🫣

After three days of cramming in as many lessons as humanly possible, working silly hours and making sure we were ready for the big day, I’m SO pleased to say we came out the other side with TWO amazing, well-earned passes! 🥳🤩

And not just passes either… 1 DRIVER FAULT EACH! 😱👏🏼👏🏼

I honestly couldn’t be prouder of these two. It hasn’t been an easy ride for either of them, and there have been plenty of ups, downs, nerves and moments where they’ve had to dig deep and believe in themselves.

And those smiles… 😍👇🏼
THAT is exactly why I do what I do! ❤️

Two more very happy, very proud new drivers on the roads! 🥳🚗

Now… can I have a holiday to recover from my holiday AND today please?! 😂🍹🤣

🚜➡️🚗 FROM TRACTOR TO CAR… DAISY HAS DONE IT! 🎉💗

Well, what a day! My second TEST PASS of the day and another absolutely cracking result! 🙌

Huge congratulations to Daisy Johnson, who has PASSED her driving TEST in Scunthorpe this afternoon with just ONE driver fault! 🥳👏

Daisy is no stranger to driving… although her usual vehicles are slightly different to mine! 😂 Having spent plenty of time whizzing around her family’s working farm in tractors and machinery probably bigger than my car, she certainly wasn’t fazed by learning to control a vehicle! 🚜🤣

Today, she took all those skills, adapted them to car driving, held her nerve and got herself that car licence! And didn’t she do it well! 👏

I actually taught Daisy’s big brother Tom a few years ago, and I distinctly remember him telling me:

“Wait until you get Daisy… you’ll know you’ve got Daisy, and you’ll need luck!” 😂

Well Tom… no luck needed here! 😉 Turns out your sister can actually drive pretty damn well! 😜

I’m genuinely going to miss our weekly chats about all things farming — especially the updates on the lambs and piglets… and, of course, hearing about their eventual fate! 😳🤣🐑🐖

Daisy, it has been an absolute pleasure! Enjoy your freedom, stay safe… and most importantly, enjoy taking Tom’s plates off the car! 😉🤣

🎉🚗 WHAT. A. RESULT! 🚗🎉

This morning has been all about celebrating Lizzie, who PASSED her driving test in Scunthorpe this morning, with just ONE driver fault!! 🥳👏🏼

Lizzie had already written her test off before she even got in my car. She had convinced herself she was going to fail, and those nerves were doing everything they could to get inside her head.

What makes me even more proud is thinking back to the meek Lizzie I met on lesson one. Quiet, nervous and lacking so much confidence… and look at her now! 🥹❤️

The Lizzie who got back into the car after passing was buzzing, chatting away and quite literally didn’t shut up the entire journey home! 😂😂

And do you know what? I absolutely loved every second of it! 🥰

Watching someone grow in confidence, overcome their nerves and completely transform in front of you is one of the best parts of this job and really makes me quite emotional.

Lizzie, you should be immensely proud of yourself. You’ve come such a long way, and we’ve had quite the journey along the way 😜😂

A huge good luck to all my students, past and present, who are receiving their Year 13 results today! 🎓📚

Remember… your results do not define who you are, your worth, or what you will go on to achieve. Take a moment to be proud of yourselves and everything you’ve achieved to get to this point, they don’t dictate where life will take you 💖

Some of you will get the results you’ve dreamed of, some may be disappointed, and others may find themselves taking a completely different path than they expected. And that’s okay. There is more than one route to success, and sometimes the unexpected road turns out to be the best one. 🛣️✨

Whatever today brings, keep believing in yourselves, be proud of how far you’ve come and remember that this is just the beginning of your next chapter. 💪

Good luck everyone — I’m rooting for you! ❤️🎓

It’s time to park the car up and give it a well deserved rest, that goes for me as well 🤣 the burn out is real after a busy couple of months. So I’m downing keys and taking a week to relax in the sun ☀️ As always, and much to my partners amusement, my phone and diary come with me and remain on, so the meme is a joke, BUT please respect my time away with my family, and expect replies to be a little slower. I will be in touch with all students towards the end of the week to book lessons in where not already booked ready for my return.

Until then, use this time off to be getting on with theory practise, and experience in your own cars where you can. Thank you and see you soon 🍹🤩 Katy x

😂 A day in the life of a driving instructor…

People often think we just sit in the passenger seat chatting all day. The reality? We develop lightning-fast reflexes, master the art of staying calm under pressure, and somehow manage to smile while silently praying the kerb survives another lesson! 🚗💨

Every emergency stop, every stalled junction, every “Oops… I forgot the mirror,” and yes… every 12-point turn… it’s all part of helping someone become a safe and confident driver.

Behind every full licence is an instructor who’s probably aged a few years, worn out a left foot on the dual controls, and said, “Don’t worry, let’s try that again,” more times than they can count. 😅

To all my fellow instructors… I see you! And to my amazing learners… thank you for keeping us on our toes (and occasionally testing our heart rate! ❤️😂)

Some of you are aware I have an absolute fruit loop Labrador, who just turned 2. He has the most loving and adoring character 🥰 but as those who know him know, his antics most definitely keep me on my toes 😈 so when I’m not out instructing you, I’m most likely instructing him how to be a good boy 🙈🤪
