While the team is busy at USC this weekend with the Civic, there’s another challenge happening too.

Our very own steady hand, Mouse, has worked his way through the Duckhams Yuasa Racing – Sim to Reality competition and earned himself a place in Saturday’s go-kart finals.

The sim was only the start. Now it’s time for the real thing.

Safe to say the whole EFWD paddock will be behind him.

When the chips are down, true friends always show up.

For the second year running, Mrs Boost has arrived at USC on the back of a recovery truck… 😂 This time it was the little van that decided it’d had enough.

But that’s the thing about this community.

Nobody moaned. Nobody panicked. Everyone just got on with it.

Lisette de Koning Lola Racing and the lads Matt Davison James Murphy headed to Santa Pod to get the pits set up.

Andrew Dorman finished work, then came to rescue Rach Davison from the services.

And while I was sat there feeling a bit stranded and vulnerable,Alan Kenyon Hocus Pocus Focus and Terry Newton Fat Pig Racing kept me company on the phone, talking about nothing much but everything at once until help arrived. Exactly what I needed.

It’s easy to call people friends when everything’s going well.

The real ones are the people who quietly turn up when it isn’t.

Grateful doesn’t even cover it. Here’s to good people… and hopefully no more recovery trucks this weekend!

Another job ticked off.

The rear wing is now complete and ready for live testing at Santa Pod.

After the finish line, when the parachute deploys, the centre section moves to increase drag and help keep the rear of the Civic settled under braking.
