I finally got around to getting the R32 sorted out. After finding out the lady that sold me my new engine decided to sell it during covid without even telling me. I was a little stuck and frustrated to say the least. She didn't even offer to pay me the money back for it. This completely demotivated me with regards to finishing the car as I was fairly sure i'd need to rebuild the engine and was being quoted somewhere in the region of 5k for it to be done which was 5 times what i paid for the engine I bought fully rebuilt.
So while being off work for a while I decided to try to get it sorted out. So i called https://www.japperformanceparts.co.uk/ in Crawley. The reason I chose JPP was that they did a wealth of work on my Subaru Forester and charged very resonable money for it. As well as being a parts redistributer for more or less every well known JDM parts manafacturer. I was really impressed as they are not the type of car garage that tries to spend your money, does work you didn't ask for or overcharges you for simple stuff. They can also beat just about anyone on part prices too.
They managed to get the car running the first day it arrived with them which surprised me as I thought it needed a new ECU due to electrical problems but it turns out it didnt. Since then its had a new cambelt, waterpump and several coolant leaks fixed and is now running without issue again. The sills are being plated as this was an MOT fail item and the car is being prepared for MOT in the UK. Along with this work its had a new turbo back exhaust including elbow and the brakes are being upgraded to R33 V-Spec items. I should all being well get the car back later this week 11th or 12th of May 23. I am so looking forward to driving this again I feel like a child waiting for Christmas.
