Tommy's Trains We are Tommy and Daddy and we love visiting railway stations to see trains and to record our adventures.

Visit our YouTube channel to see all of our videos and shorts or take a look at our Instagram page for photos we've taken πŸš‚ We are Tommy and Daddy and we love trains.

πŸš‚ Tommy has loved trains from an early age, watching other people's YouTube videos before being inspired by local Trainspotters Harry and Tristan to create his own.

πŸš‚ Daddy had a mild interest in trains until Tommy made it an obsession for both of us, inspiring Daddy to get a job on the railway which he loves.

πŸš‚ Our main aim is to have fun together, visiting stations seeing interesting trains but our biggest priority is always SAFETY!!

πŸš‚ We try to upload 2-3 videos a week as well as a daily short to Youtube as well as photos to Instagram. Videos are taken on a Google Pixel phone and uploaded in 4K

πŸš‚ Cramlington and Morpeth are our local stations which we visit after Tommy finishes school through the week. During school holidays and on weekends, we try to venture further away.

Back when The Flying Scotsman came to Newcastle, the steam locomotive took all of the attention away from this beautiful Class 37 locomotive, 37204.

So here it is in all of it's glory, pulling away from platform 2

It's that time of year again where leaves cause problems for the railway πŸ‚πŸ

Wet leaves on the track does cause delays but it also means it's RHTT season. Rail Head Track Treatment trains blast water into the railheads to clear the slippy residue caused by the wet leaves reducing the problems. What we love about these trains is that they're normally pulled by great diesel locomotives.

Daddy was lucky to catch these two class 56 locomotives on platform 2 at Newcastle Central Station with the driver giving him a horn blast and a wave. Hopefully Tommy will see them soon 🀞🏼

We saw another Steam Locomotive on Saturday, this time it was 60163 Tornado at Blaydon Railway Station. It looked great as it pulled a Railtour along The Tyne Valley Line with 47773 on the back.

What a brilliant day today has been. The Friends of Blaydon Station and Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership invited Tommy to Blaydon Railway Station to unveil a new tiled map that has been installed onto platform 2.

Tommy was delighted to do it and he was joined by his family who were there to support him. We were also invited for refreshments that Northern kindly supplied at a nearby cafe, Path Head Watermill.

After some cake and a cup of tea at an amazing venue, we returned to Blaydon to catch the steam locomotive Tornado passing through. Tornado looked fantastic as it passed and delighted the small crowd that had assembled.

Thank you so much to the amazing volunteers at TVCRP for inviting us. The work they do around the station is fantastic and they're such lovely people. We were so lucky to spend time with them today and look forward to seeing them again soon.

We'll upload the video to our YouTube channel on Monday afternoon so keep an eye out for that.

Tommy saw four Class 66 freight locomotives at Wylam Railway Station on Sunday. They were all travelling from Manors to Carlisle helping with engineering work that's happening just north of Newcastle on the East Coast Mainline.
