#021 LIVERY SERIES - 1983 March 83G - IMSA GTP winning car. Sponsored by Red lobster, known simply as "The lobster".

This piece was in honour of a friend of mine who retired from formula 1 and motorsport last month after 47 years Andrew Buehling. He was part of the small team in England who helped hand build these march cars, and continued through into force India, racing point and then into Aston Martin F1.

After March stopped F1 they ventured into the American race series, indy car and this IMSA GTP series. They only built 3 of these vehicles, 2 of them being porsche powered, and this one number 25 having a chevrolet engine, driven by cowart and miller. Making many podiums as the privateer entry.

This unusual livery was too unique not to do.I enjoyed this one, And couldn't resist planting it into the water from whence it belongs...

Had a trip over to today for the Sunday scramble saw a blissfully large and diverse selection of vehicles. And the jaguar cx-75 bond vehicle. We've been working on.

Exotic production cars, one off prototypes, historic race vehicles, rat rods. First time at Sunday scramble and worth the trip if you like anything on wheels.

Livery series: BMW M1 Artcar. 1979 Andy warhol.

Hand painted by the synonymous pop art artist, and still raced in the group 4 series, 24hr lemans.

This beauty in its own right had six-cylinder inline engine

4 valves per cylinder

twin overhead camshafts

displacement: 3500 cm³

power output: 470 bhp

top speed: 307 km/h

And this abstract mix of colours made it iconic to me and many others. Although it's technically an artwork rather than a livery, I had to pay homage to this rolling oil painting.

Which body design is best and why?

1: Retro hot rod
2: Organic and classic
3: Scifi extreme aero.

A nice styling project for a RC car body. For a friend Andy over and his awesome custom designed car.
This is a pretty early part of the design process, developing a visual identity using different themes, after the initial pencil sketches are these sketch renders. I overlayed the render onto the actual chassis to allow for a semi realistic comparison at this early stage.

To commemorate the Concorde, a British airways and Air france collaboration. The turbo-jet supersonic PASSENGER airliner, was In operation from 1976 to 2003. One of only 2 supersonic passenger jets that were ever in use. It was capable of crossing from New York to London in 2 hours 52 minutes and 59 seconds , reaching speeds of over 1500mph! Crazy stuff. Sadly following a crash in Paris, rising fuel prices and 2001 twin towers attack, it was decommissioned.

This illustration is from the only known mid flight picture of the concorde at MACH 2, taken over the irish sea by an RAF tornado... the concorde had to slow down to have the picture taken... engineering. Gotta love it.

This legendary F1 car and livery were used mid 80s and were made famous amongst others by Ayrton Senna. And driven by jenson button at goodwood revival as drawn in the picture. Back when ci******es were the main sponsor of F1. Pre hybrid, pre halo, pre Michael massee... Just moustaches, cognac and large te**es...

I had a need to draw some wierd stuff. So decided months ago to do some organic inspired Scifi stuff. And I'm now collaborating with a colleague to make a real model of this. Here are the concept sketches.

Wanted this to be a nice minimal and clean illustration so chose neutral colour background, and highlighted the geometric design feature of the semi- circular profile. With radiating lines. Always enjoy a side profile!

Custom Art render: #031 from classic Subaru impreza turbo 2000.

Now with a honking load of carbon parts; bonnet, front fenders and huge sti rear wing and boot lid.

Decided on a dark, moody Japanese theme. Floating Neon signage, kanji subaru repeating graphics casting lights across the scene and car.

Another Christmas, another illustration for me old pal peorge.

#019 LIVERY SERIES: Martini livery 1982 Lancia LC1

Designed for group 6, in endurance races, like lemans 24hr. In an era where apparently it doesn't matter if you have your head blown clean off.

This beautiful slab-like loaf of bred profile, lent itself to the curvey linear martini livery perfectly like a clean slate. I extended the livery around the canvas to highlight the sinuous martini lines. Hot pink.
